I bought 2 pairs of the regular fit, and they're pretty slim on me (that was in the Philippines, so the sizing might be different in North America). I actually couldn't get the slim fit chinos or jeans up over my thighs, and I'm an average/athletic build- 6'0, 170lbs. You might want to consider ordering a pair of regular and slim, and sending back the ones you don't want. You should also plan to take them to a tailor to have them hemmed. At least at the store I was at, I noticed that each pair of pants only had one inseam length for each waist size (both the jeans i bought and the chinos are 79cm waist, 85cm inseam, which was pretty long). They actually offered to make alterations on anything I bought at the register, but that might just be a Philippines thing. Great clothes, though. Really happy with everything I have from UNIQLO. I bought a pair of Uniqlo chinos a good few years ago, they were a mix of Cotton (75%), Rayon (22%) and Spandex (3%). They're soft, super comfortable, and have been my go-tos forever. They fit great too, particularly as a shorter, skinnier guy with little twig legs.
Unfortunately, my ass area tore them apart so I ordered some new ones and...they're kind of awful? The new chinos are very denim-y, they look and feel like jeans, they're "skinny fit" but they swallow my legs entirely so now I look like I'm walking in my dads pants.
I buy stuff from Uniqlo all the time but this is the first I've genuinely been unhappy with a purchase. What gives?

'Jeans' ironically these are called jeans, part of the jeans collection, and yet these feel absolutely nothing like a pair of jeans. Super soft to the touch, more like chinos than the actual chinos, and these have way smaller leg opening than the Slim Chinos SKU, I recommend you trying these

I was thinking of ordering these:

However, I'm not sure how'd they fit on me. I have a very standard - not lanky, but not big - build. 5'7, 140 if that helps a bit more.

I'm 5'8"-ish, 150 lbs, and just got my first pair of Uniqlo slim fit chinos and LOVE the way they fit. They are slim, but I didn't find them overly tight (I also don't have huge legs or anything). I didn't think they were slimmer than most 'slim fit' chinos, but from the knee down they may be a bit more tapered, which I liked a lot. I also got mine hemmed in-store, if you can get to a B&M I completely recommend it, free tailoring can't be beat.

They are looser than Levis 511. I think this season's are even looser. They're your standard chinos. The only thing I dislike is the baggy knees I get after I've been sitting down after awhile, but that's with almost all slim fit pants.
