i was wondering even though it just got announced. i love chris pratt (owen grady) as a main character in the story of the jurassic world series, i reallly hope he is in their but if hes not. then hopefully the movie is good without hm.

No, it’s an entire “rebirth” of the series (the name is meant to be taken literal that way). It’s set in the same universe as both the JP and JW trilogies, but with an entire new cast of characters doing entirely new things not directly tied to the previous films. I mean maybe he’ll make an unexpected cameo or something (I personally hope not) but so far, from what has been revealed about the movie, it’s an all new cast with nobody returning.

In the first Jurassic World, Chris Pratt's character, Owen Grady was actually kind of a fresh take on a JP main character, a calm, confident and competent adult around dinosaurs.
The whole former marine that trained/bonded with the Raptor Squad was a little silly (and cool), but at the time, it was kind of an interesting and new direction for the horror-centered Velociraptors, since it showcased another layer to their intelligence (akin to wolves, also pack hunters), but in the sequels, it became too much of Dino Avengers.
And even though the cracks of his character were already there in the first Jurassic World movie, by the time of Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, Owen Grady became a Gary Stue capable of anything and everything.
He can survive a dosage of tranquilizer that was meant for a full grown dinosaur (so, it should have killed him), he runs away from a volcanic eruption (gets swallowed by the smoke that should have burned his lungs), then he jumps from a cliff and arrives right on time in order to save Claire and the screaming dude from the sinking Gyosphere.
The guy simply became too "cool" and macho for the kind of story that Jurassic is.
He is unstopabble and every good guy/girl around him are instantly protected around him, because the story simply has no stakes with someone like him around.
In the original, Ian Malcom was cool, but even he got hurt.
Also, Owen starting to do that stupid pose everytime a theropod showed up was driving me nuts.
It worked on your trained raptors that imprinted on you, but that doesn't mean that random Carnotaurus and Allosaurus should give a damn about that pose.
I feel like Owen Grady's character is one of the biggest instances of failed writing when it comes to main characters in popular IPs, but he doesn't criticized enough.

In my opinion, "controversial as it will be" Owen Grady is the male Rey Palpatine. Both had interesting backstories with a unique dynamic in a sequel story, but got mogged by bad writing, lazy direction, and being overpowered. Owen Grady is a Gary Stu, because if he couldn't accomplish something, the story would end. He is no better than Rey. Let the flame war begin!

I'm going to be honest Jurassic World was the start of Dino Avengers; the second half of that movie completely jumps the shark. Explosions aplenty, raptors riding alongside motorcycles, the I.rex commanding the raptors to attack, the pteranodon attack on main street which makes zero sense when you think about it (if they've been spooked why aren't they flying away as far as possible instead of dive bombing everyone?) and then the fatal fourway match at the end. Owen I guess had more potential in JW, but how are you going to take any character development seriously in a movie where you have dinosaurs teaming up to defeat a "bad" dinosaur. Any nuance that JW tried to create flies out the window in the second half. I imagine Owen avoids criticism because it's like trying to analyze Vin Diesel's character in F&F; he's just a caricature in a dumb action movie. Instead of saying "family" and driving cars out of planes, Owen just does his dino whispering pose.
