I have a pretty diverse set of neighbors. I want to gift them all the same thing for the sake of my own convenience. Someone suggested cookies but I feel like people are less receptive to cooked items due to fear of germs and such? $5 gift cards to Starbucks won’t buy a cup of coffee and I have too many people to give to be giving $10 cards.
Update: I got then a cookie jar, a box of chocolates and a pair of scented pillar candles for each neighbor. The total was 28 dollars without tax.
Hello everyone, husband and I moved into our home last year. Husband and I are from different country, religion and culture. Both of us are new to Christmas and gifting etiquettes.
For christmas last year, we received gifts from everyone we talk to in our neighborhood! We didn't expect gifts and so didn't have anything to gift them in return. But, I had also got them a locally made handbag, a box of sweetmeats and a pack of coffee powde, all from my home country for just a month ago, so I thought I just gave gifts a little earlier. Was this a mistake?
All gifts we received from them eatables. Assortment of store bought eatables like cookies and such. Husband and I don't want to gift them eatables or perishables. The budget is 50-60 USD.
I am thinking of gifting them ceramic ware like a tea pot and mug set or a platter. Does anyone have better ideas? Also, is it ok to gift everyone the same teapot or should I mix it up?
I have 3 families that are kind to me all year. I'm retired and on a fixed income. I'd like to give each family a small token of my appreciation.
Family of 5 - twin boys age 17 and Jr. High girl. They are from India so not too Christmas-y since they don't celebrate.
Single woman about age 50. Diabetic.
Empty nester husband and wife. Their youngest attends college in state but will be home for Christmas. Their married daughter will be visiting at some point for a day. I'm mostly interested in the hubby and wife but with something the family can share. I know hubby likes chocolate.
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
