Every year! I just bought garland and battery powered string lights from Amazon. Attach with zip ties. Don’t wrap around the rack if you can help it. The link is one of the strings that I used last year.

More on reddit.comI am 16, bought a 99 xj sport the other day. One of my dreams was to have Christmas lights kinda woven through all sides of my roof rack, what's the best way to go about this? Id prefer to not drill any holes but don't mind it if they're water tight and unobtrusive. Like normal Christmas lights, that you'd put on a tree or something.
Sounds weird, don't try to dissuade me lol, it won't work

Target sells a $30 12V charging port converter that plugs into your cigarette lighter. I run a short extension cord out through my rear pop outs - [2 Door XJ Sport with rear pop out windows] plug that into 2 box sets of LED XMAS lights from Target - I use 1 box per factory roof rail & connect those lights together and connect the open end to my extension cord. If you need to turn the lights off simply unplug the extension cord from the converter or take ur converter out of the cigarette lighter. I ran this setup all of 2019 XMAS Holiday, never had any problems.

Has anybody wrapped their roof rack with Christmas lights? If so, do you have a link to the lights you recommend and how many feet?

This is my 8th year doing them now. I bought two 35' outdoor led stands. Plugged into the outlet in the rear, ran up the door jamb, woven through the roof rack sides. I tape all the end connections just to make sure
