It is because of JavaScript that captures your clicks and, because of that, interferes with your keyboard shortcuts. If you disable JavaScript then shortcuts should start to work again. You can test it by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+I (Developer tools), then clicking Settings (gear icon) and enabling option Disable JavaScript.
i tried everything, i'm on windows 11 btw.

Middle-clicking seems to work like a ctrl-click (as mentioned by Firelord in the comments).
Thanks for bringing this up. I indeed broke this with my crummy JS, and it has now been fixed. The fix is already live so you should not have any further issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.
And for anyone curious, this.href = will preserve middle clicks, while window.location.href = will not. Now I know. :)
The problem seems to be here:
$(".js-search-results").on("click", "div.result-link a", function (ev) {
ev.preventDefault();
window.location.href = $(this).data("searchsession");
return false;
});
this finds the clicks on search results, prevents the default handler, and changes the current webpage.
Hello. I use Ctrl+Click often to open new tabs so that I can go back the the original list easily. As of today, it no longer works. When I hold Ctrl and click nothing happens. Did something change?
I also have the same Samsung modelled specified by the OP. It came with an extension installed called Word CaptureX. When I disabled this extension, Ctrl+click worked again perfectly. Strangely, it only didn't work with google sites.
It works for my Chrome. And it should be the norm, if I believe this list of keyboard shortcuts.
So you most likely have an issue only inside your installation of Chrome. There is no way to edit these shortcuts, as far as I'm aware. Try to reinstall Chrome, check the extensions which are installed, as they could alter the default behaviour. Try for example to deactivate all of them, and see if you have the issue or not.
Check if it works with another browser, to see if it's related only to Chrome, or if another program is somehow blocking that.
If you have multi cursor mode enabled it doens't work anymore:

If it says go to alt click it is enabled.
Edit: I just noticed this isn't the solution for you. This might be the solution for other people if you have this:

Here is a second solution. This needs to be enabled:

Thirth solution:
Change your standard browser to a different one and back
I've changed my default browser to Firefox and it works. So it must be a problem with Chrome.
I tried the following debug steps, taken from a GitHub discussion. 1
- In VS Code, ≡ > Help > Toggle Developer Tools.
- In the top menu, select Console.
- In the bottom/main pane, type (or paste)
window.open("http://www.bing.com") - Hit Enter ↵.
If the above steps don't open Bing in Chrome, try switching your default browser to Firefox, and then do the steps again.
Others have reported that when switching the default browser back to Chrome,
Ctrl + [click] on a link in VS Code now opens the link in Chrome, just as it should.
1 When I tried the steps, I got Error: Prevented call to window.open(). Use IOpenerService instead!
This has been driving me crazy for a few days now. I can't quite understand what's going on. You know how you can hold CTRL and click the Left or Right arrows to jump back and forth between words you are typing? Well... CTRL+LEFT doesn't want to work on Chrome! It works fine on Edge and other applications no issue. Also CTRL+RIGHT works on Chrome with no issues.
What the hell is going on here? I'm super confused why this all the sudden doesn't want to work inside Chrome. I use the CTRL+Left and Right for basically everything.
