Cmd + Shift + T to open recently closed tab is a popular one that not everybody knows or uses readily. I like to customize search to include various services - like using "g" as a shortcut to search google groups, or "d" as a shortcut to search google drive. This is URL based so works for any application which takes a query parameter such as " https://app.com/search?q=%s " if I switch to a different browser (or sometimes to a different chrome profile) and my search shortcuts aren't there - it really stands out! Even using new "@" omnibar shortcuts like @ tabs or @ bookmarks seems to be too much typing... I mean - its fine for one off use - but if you use it frequently I like to create a single letter shortcut, so instead of typing @ bookmarks - it's just "b" followed by search term (bookmarks search URL is chrome://bookmarks/?q=%s). Haven't figured out the @ tabs yet - there doesn't appear to be a direct search URL - but the good news if you start typing something in the omnibar itself - if it matches an already opened tab - it gives you an option to open that tab (so @ tabs seems a bit redundnant) I also use a select and search extension (Simple=Select+Search) to save me from having to type - highlighting the term and right click -> Select+Search gets you there. June 22, 2021 - When on mobile, Chrome offers you a second chance with a small pop-up message at the bottom of the screen. If you're quick enough, tap Undo and the tab will return. Otherwise, you can tap the three-dot menu and choose Recent tabs in the menu to see a list of your most recently closed tabs. Don't have time to read everything right now? Save it to the reading list and read the page later. This new feature syncs with your Google Account so you can open saved articles across devices.
