Taking inventory of Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) installed by Chrome/Edge?
You might want be able to look in users appdata directories. C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\\Web Applications note that if the user created other profiles, might not be the only folder. Ive done this for regular extensions in the past and it was a little janky, but mostly works. for the web apps you might have to do a little more work since i dont think theres a lot of info about which app they are. You mostly just get an ID number and maybe some icons. More on reddit.com

September 26, 2023 -
Anyone know if you can use PowerShell or any other command-line utility to take inventory of what Progressive Web Apps (PWA) are installed on a Windows device? and possibly uninstall any that are found? without having to open Chrome/Edge to do it? And are there options for doing this remotely? either via PowerShell or GPO?

As a general rule, do not allow applications to be executed from a user controled storage location, only protected folders administered by system people. SRPs are hard to put in place but they are extremely effective, aim for that.

I came across the photo editor Photopea PWA and was extremely impressed with its features and how well it runs. Having been a long term user (10+ years) of Photoshop, I never thought a PWA could replicate this industry-standard software that has decades of development behind it.
It got me wondering, what other PWA gems are there? Alternatively, what do you hope to see in the PWA sphere?

They are functional on Android and operate in Chrome, Opera, and Mozilla; however, there are still some issues with iOS and Safari. Another issue is that cached files expire quickly. The previously downloaded files will disappear if users don't open the PWA for a while, yet the shortcut will remain.

Near the top, there is a button, Create app that, when clicked, will show the following screen to guide you through creating a new Android app listing. There are a number of fields here to fill out, including app name, default language, whether it's an app or a game, whether it's free or paid, and a number of declarations. You will not be able to create an app without agreeing to the declarations, so it's important that you read through them and understand them before agreeing to them. While given the option to make your app free or paid, the PWA you bundle for inclusion in Play must be available to the wider Internet in order to work, and there is no way to reliably detect that a user is accessing it from your app instead of from their browser or another installation method.
