r/spotify on Reddit: Spotify keeps trying to connect to "Chrome (Web Player)" but I don't even have Chrome on my computer
December 7, 2017 -

My Spotify keeps skipping to the next song automatically or playing random music from an obscure artist called "Drill beats" and it almost feels like I've been "hacked" for lack of a better term. I get through 1-2 minutes of a song and then it automatically skips. Occasinally it will automatically start playing music from "Drill beats" which just makes zero sense, never heard of this artist before and they make some pretty creepy music...

I use Facebook to log in and have Premium. I've changed my Facebook password and forced it to log out of everything I was logged in to with it, and that didn't help.

My best guess is that it has something to do with Connect. For some reason I have "Chrome (Web Player)" listed in my devices, but I don't even have Chrome on my computer. Is there any way to get it off of my devices list?

r/spotify on Reddit: What is Web Player (Chrome) and why does it change my phone app?
March 13, 2022 -

I'm very new to having the app on my phone, and I just don't understand what's the point in the web player and why it has to change the app on my phone, or why can't the condtions stay on my app when I close the tab on Google. I just want to know: what web player is, why does it change the stuff on my phone app (ex. changing progress bar, restarting the song or going to previous song), why does changed stuff becomed disabled when i close the tab, and is there any way to keep these changed conditions on my phone without needing to open the site on my computer?
