I haven't seen so many pop ups since 2003! It's really become a problem. Chrome's help says it's possible to block them (EDIT: this is on a Samsung S20). However, as is typical of chrome their help is a few versions out of date and it refers to menus that have been renamed or removed, making their help pages useless. If anyone knows the CURRENT way to block pop ups, in the CURRENT version of chrome, please comment. Or if it's not possible anymore, any suggestions of other browsers to try?

Where is the pop-up blocker on the Google toolbar?
The pop-up blocker is located in the Site settings menu. You’ll need to navigate through the Settings and Privacy and security settings menus to access it. For various devices, check out our full tutorials above. If you've downloaded a trusted third-party ad blocker for Chrome and enabled the extension, you can see the ad blocker icon via extensions or pinned to your navigation bar.
How do I make Chrome the default pop-up browser?
If Chrome isn’t your default browser, it usually prompts you to set it as your default when opening the page. If it doesn’t, you can follow the instructions on Google’s help site to set it as your default browser.
Why is the pop-up window blocked?
If your browser’s pop-up blocker is enabled or you have a third-party ad blocker activated, pop-ups may be blocked on your device. Pop-ups are annoying, and many people choose to block them by default. If there’s a certain site you want to allow pop-ups, you can configure that manually. If you want to allow all pop-ups, you can also turn on that option on your various devices. Learn how to manage Chrome notifications in our guide.
