I recently upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11. Since then I'm struggling to get Chrome to act the way it used to. Before when I would click in a credit card field during checkout Chrome would prompt me to pick a credit card from Google Pay. Then after selecting one it would give me a prompt for verifying the card with the CVC number. I like this setup, however I can't for the life of me get Chrome to do this now. I have seen quite a few posts and forums referencing a "Always verify when using autofill” setting, but that doesn't exist, I only have the settings below. When I try to enable the "Manually verify..." setting it wants to do something with my local Windows account. How can I get it to prompt me for verification via the CVC?

I’ve tried everything but I simply don’t see an option, as they mention on their website, to opt in for virtual card numbers after adding my card to Google Wallet.

Anyone who’s enrolled theirs already, how do you do it?

There is no separate process. it is created at the same time with google pay enrollment Also your google payments profile needs to be registered to a US I believe.

I have google pay set up in my phone, and google creates a virtual credit card number for each of my credit cards, so whenever I make a purchase with google pay, the merchant actually charges the virtual card, then google charges my real card that associates with this virtual card number, it's safer because merchants would have no idea what my real card number is. My question is, how do I find out the full virtual card number that google created for my cards ? In google pay, I can only see the last 4 digits. Because I would like to use the virtual card number to make online purchases whenever a website doesn't accept google pay or paypal.

You don't. They aren't intended to be used in that way. From a technical perspective, the full account number might not even exist.

You find another NFC-enabled phone and install an EMV card reader app on it. On the primary phone, in Google Pay, select the card which you want to know the virtual card details of. Open the MFC card reader app on the second phone. Hold the phones' backsides close. The primary phone will say "payment failed, try again". The second phone will now show the virtual card number and expiration date. I recommend using the app by "Julien Millau" or "Viliyan Vasilev". I believe them both to be safe as I myself have used them over the years and nothing has happened. They are available through Google Play Store, nothing is sent outside of the app/device, I believe Julien's use open source NFC and EMV libraries, and Julien's is also available on Github. I myself have helped test Viliyan's app back in 2019 to confirm that it works with Google Pay. As I recall, Viliyan's does have some more advanced features, but it is also a paid app.
