12” excavation for pavers. 6” compacted 57s. 4” sand. Paver (bout 2” typical). If doing concrete, can just do 4” compacted 57. 4” concrete… stamp it. If you are doing this yourself, rent a compactor. As for the space around, no dont need any taper or need to make it any bigger for fixing. I would suggest not having grass right up to the pavers. 8-12” of decorative rock or mulch with an edger to make mow/trim easier. Your yard is sloped. The side toward the trees needs a block wall on that side Concrete will be about 1/2 to 2/3 the price. To get materials back there youre going to fuck up the path you take. Plan on fixing that too. Now for my opinion. You have no deck or patio behind your house. Make it a patio. Improve the value of your house. Dont do weird circles in the middle of the yard. 15’ square might be okay, but 15’ circle is not enough space to have a decent size pit and seating around it. Wheres the wood go? Walking over to the house to get it? Paver patio. If you are having trouble sourcing gravel, you should call a pro to do it. Let them design it within a budget. More on reddit.com

I'm looking to put down a paved area for a fire pit in the back yard, and a moderate circular size would be nice,preferably in something like recycled brick. Taking a quick look around, it doesn't look like many places do curved paving at all, let alone in different diameters, for making nice circular areas.
Any tips for how I can do this fairly easily?
I can source a brick saw pretty easily, but I don't want to have to cut a million bricks myself if it can be avoided. I could just lay the pavers square, and cut the outside ones to a circle, but I don't love that design. Other ideas? Am I just looking in the wrong place for suitable pavers?

Hey peeps, I am going to install a 15’ in diameter circle made of pavers here where I have a bald spot on the lawn. I have had a hard time getting good numbers on 3/4 minus to put in after I dig out the space; should I order enough for 3”-4” for before it is compacted down?
Also… should I go ahead and begin the hole exactly 15’ in diameter, and angle it out toward 16’ at the top so I have room to put in the pavers and reinstall grass around the project once it is complete?
