Hi, I followed the cisco Pinot and used a usb to TTL converter. I cut the connector off of a cat6 cable and wired it up to the usb to TTL converter.
I am using 9600 8N1 with no flow control and am getting garbled text from a brocade icx-6610 and also an HPE Poe+ switch. So I am assuming it's something to do with the converter?
I do have an actual cisco rj45 to usb cable coming to test but, I don't understand why I would be getting garbled text, like a bad baudrate setting.
I have tried several baudrates, most give garbled text. I have tx, Rx and gnd hooked up (CTS, RTS isn't needed it says, I did test with them connected but it made no difference) and am using minicom as an emulator.
Any thoughts or ideas?
