I knew Citi was inquiry sensitive to an extent but wow! I’ve seen some videos on Citi and then came across a YT channel where a guy reviewed the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Business World Elite Mastercard recently. He explained in very clear terms that if you have basically ANY hard inquiries in the past 24 months, your application will absolutely be denied. That sounds worse than the VX reports I’ve heard…can anyone confirm this??? His instructions were to wait until your at 1/24 or maybe 2/24 before applying. And since I have plans for other card applications over the next 24-months I was kinda shocked that this card I really wanted has to be scratched off my list. Got a 766 FICO and inquiries are 3/24, 2/12 right now. But in 2025, I need to apply for the BoA Alaska Airlines Business card first due to their 3/12 rule (since I don’t bank with them and I opened two accounts in 2024)
I had no idea Citi just turned down applicants like that for more than 1-2 inquiries. Sure, 5,6,7+ is something I’d understand. But for 3 or 4? Are they like that on just the co-branded cards? Thanks

I can confirm that didn’t happen for me. I had 6-7 new cards (under a year old) and got approved for it.

This is simply untrue about the hard inquiries. I got the Citi AA business card approval literally 10 days after a recent inquiry & approval for the Citi AA personal card. Both of those pulled Equifax.. that said those were the only inquiries on report, as majority of lenders for me pull Experian. Speaking of Experian.. I got a Double Cash less than a month later from my Citi Strata approval, both separate hard pulls. Had 4 recent inquiries on Experian within 4-5 week span after my DC approval. Something strange happened to my Citi online account. I used to be able to access all of my personal cards and my American Airlines business card through one login. After a fiasco combining my ThankYou Rewards accounts, my online account only shows personal cards. When I called the customer service line about it, I was told that business cards are supposed to have a separate login.
A separate login?! Amex allows you to see all cards at once, both personal and business. When I attempted to link the business card to my online account, the website wouldn't let me. Is this the same with everyone else? Do people actually have two separate logins to access their Citi personal and business cards?

Yes, separate logins are required now. Single login used to be possible, but not anymore.

hmmm... randomly came across this post when I searched for something. Data point from today 5/21/2025 - I just applied for a citi business credit card and was able to login using my personal login during the app - after approval, I can see the business card in the same original login. There was no need for a separate login
