Hi: Does anyone have a contact number for Citi Credit card where there is an actual person who can help ? I was rejected and I cannot get thru the automated phone system they have to a person. They keep asking for my SSN, which they don't recognize, or my credit card number which, of course, I don't have. Thank you
Update 11:45 a.m. Aug. 3, 2022: I tried to use my Discover Bank Debit card to make a $25 payment toward the balance of my Citi Custom Cash. Citi's automated payment system 1-800-950-5114 wouldn't allow the payment to be submitted after I entered the Discover debit card number and pressed the keys to submit. I then was transferred to a Citi representative. He said that Discover Bank was not allowing the payment to go through with the Discover Bank debit card number. So it appears you CAN NOT make Citibank credit card payments with a Discover Bank debit card.

Citibank does accept debit card payments for credit card accounts if you call the automated phone system at 1-800-950-5114 and follow the prompts.

If you pay your Citibank credit card bill via the automated phone system with a Discover Bank debit card, do you get 1% cashback on those payments. I've tried getting the 1% cashback with PayPal Bill payments to credit card accounts. While the payments will process (except they will process as ACH withdrawals when I tried paying down my Citi Custom Cash balance), Discover Bank will not give 1% cashback on such payments. PayPal Bill Pay payments are apparently excluded from the 1% cashback under this fine print: "ATM transactions, the purchase of money orders or other cash equivalents, cash over portions of point-of-sale transactions, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) payments (such as Apple Pay Cash), and loan payments or account funding made with your debit card are not eligible for cash back rewards. In addition, purchases made using third-party payment accounts (services such as Venmo® and PayPal®, who also provide P2P payments) may not be eligible for cash back rewards."
Does any other credit card issuer including Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Apple Card (Goldman Sachs), Synchrony, American Express, Capital One, accept debit card payments where you can get 1% cashback on the payment with Discover Bank's debit card? I've heard that you can pay off your Capital One credit card balance with a debit card at a 7/11, Kroger or Western Union in person. I haven't confirmed this. Of course, the cost is time and fuel to get to the location and the time waiting in line if there's a line. Has anyone tried this to get the Discover Bank debit card 1% cashback?
Note: someone suggested using a Coinbase debit card to get cashback on debit card payments where the cashback is in the form of crypto. But I'm reluctant to mess around with crypto at this time. Plus the tax implications of converting crypto to dollars.
