How to Get A Business Credit Card For Startups | Citi.com
Although you're applying for a business credit card for your startup, the lender may still require your Social Security number to check your personal credit file. Depending on the type of credit card, you may be personally liable for your business credit card and any employee transactions.

CITI AADVANTAGE BUSINESS CARD
Business cards (most of them) won’t be reported to your credit report, but you will still get hard pulls which do affect your credit report. But you’re right in that so long as banks pull from different credit reporting agencies, they won’t see the hard pull. Correction: Business cards (most of them) do not count towards 5/24 status. It doesn’t matter if banks are pulling from Experian or Equifax, etc. Business cards are not reported on your credit reports unless… If you miss payments for business cards repeatedly, the bank will report that on your credit report. Any data points on citi business cards?
Older ‘common knowledge’ from r/churning was that Citi required 5 years of credit history for approval for the AA business card, though even the data points that I recall on this (which are a year+ old) indicated that ‘rule’ softening in that people with 3-4 years of CC history were getting approved. TLDR: There is history indicating that 2 years and 11 months of CC history is too new for a Citi business card, and that the break point may be somewhere between 3-5 years. More on reddit.com

r/CreditCards on Reddit: CITI AADVANTAGE BUSINESS CARD
April 21, 2025 -

Hi guys,

Thinking about applying this card and I want to mainly ask feedback about my strategy.

The reason I want to apply the business credit is because i don't want my personal credit report affected because I am currently over 5/24 and I want to get out of hopefully in a few month.

As far as I understand, Citi buesiness card will not impact my personal credit score, plus it will pull from equifax instead of experian, so the hard inqury will only show up on equifax after I apply.

Since chase pulls from experian, Chase won't know about this card exist thus I am able to get pass the 5/24 rule.

I live in WA, can anyone confirm my assumptions are correct here?

  1. Citi AA business card won't impact my personal credit score.

  2. It will pull from equifax, not experian.

  3. Chase pull from experian so this card won't impact my 5/24 status.

Thank you!

r/CreditCards on Reddit: Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select BUSINESS credit card approval: Why is this card treated like a Venture X by Citi?
December 9, 2024 -

I knew Citi was inquiry sensitive to an extent but wow! I’ve seen some videos on Citi and then came across a YT channel where a guy reviewed the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Select Business World Elite Mastercard recently. He explained in very clear terms that if you have basically ANY hard inquiries in the past 24 months, your application will absolutely be denied. That sounds worse than the VX reports I’ve heard…can anyone confirm this??? His instructions were to wait until your at 1/24 or maybe 2/24 before applying. And since I have plans for other card applications over the next 24-months I was kinda shocked that this card I really wanted has to be scratched off my list. Got a 766 FICO and inquiries are 3/24, 2/12 right now. But in 2025, I need to apply for the BoA Alaska Airlines Business card first due to their 3/12 rule (since I don’t bank with them and I opened two accounts in 2024)

I had no idea Citi just turned down applicants like that for more than 1-2 inquiries. Sure, 5,6,7+ is something I’d understand. But for 3 or 4? Are they like that on just the co-branded cards? Thanks
