Is anyone here a Classic Car Club member?
At the end of January, members got an email saying the club was being evicted from Pier 76 and they did not know where they would be relocating. Despite that, membership charges continued.
I saw they have now moved to E 55th Street, but I also noticed the hours look drastically different. It appears they are only open Monday through Saturday, and they close at 6 PM on Monday and Tuesday.
Is anyone still a member and has been to the new clubhouse? What is the setup like now? Is the club operating normally? Do they still have the same vibe, events, and benefits?
I am trying to understand what the actual plan is before making any decisions. Any real insight would help.
I'm a petrolhead that's just moved to New York from London. I convinced myself before the move that I wouldn't need a car having researched the costs beforehand but I've now realized that I genuinely can't live without one and currently trying to make this happen. I previously had (still have) a S1 Elise in central London, and did trackdays regularly.
I had a few questions for car owners in Manhattan:
- Where do petrolheads hang out? Is there a spot that people tend to visit over the weekends, like a particular cafe in the countryside? I couldn't find many recent events like cars and coffee in the NYC area.
- Are there any local tracks/autocross events nearby? The only thing I could find was the Monticello motor club and that strikes me more as a members club, rather than a turn up and drive venue.
- Another alternative is to get a motorcycle which works out to be c. half the price to garage. For those who enjoy both cars and bikes, which one is more worthwhile for weekends and enjoyment if you had to choose one? I'm edging towards the car only because I can use it for long road trips.
I didn't want to make this post too long, but I'd happily buy someone a few rounds if I could pick their brains on their thoughts and advice live!
After the whole Pier 76 situation, I was ready to stay annoyed at Classic Car Club Manhattan on principle.
Then the East 55th Street clubhouse happened, and now I am confused, because it sounds like they might have pulled off a real upgrade.
They are now in the old Core Club space, which changes the conversation. This is not a temporary room with a logo slapped on the wall. The new Classic Car Club NYC setup seems to have a gym, sauna, steam room, screening room, patio, huge restaurant, and a much more complete private club feel.
So now I want to know: does it still feel like Classic Car Club, or does it feel like a Midtown members club with cars attached?
Pier 76 had its own identity. It was casual, car-focused, a little chaotic, and very West Side. The new space sounds more polished, more expensive, and more grown-up. That might be a good thing. It might also change the whole point of the club.
Has anyone been to the new Classic Car Club Manhattan clubhouse yet? How is the restaurant? Is the gym useful or decorative? Are the sauna and steam room part of the real experience? Does the patio have any vibe? Most important, does the new space make the Classic Car Club membership cost feel worth it again?
I want the current member review, not the brochure version.
After the Pier 76 mess, would you renew?
I'm a absolute car fanatic. In California I've owned 68 Camaro SS,65 Ford Mustang fastback, 3 Datsun 510, Jeep JK, 97 Acura Type-R, and couple other daily drivers. I also recently moved to Manhattan for work. With no car.
And I really want to meet like minded people. I'm not at the point I can financially afford the driving memberships (hopefully someday soon) , so I was wondering what the non-driving club memberships were like. If the meet ups were worth the fee, because a little part of me feels like it might be a big tease seeing all those cars and knowing I can drive them yet.
Any Classic Car Club of Manhattan members on here? Opinions?
Was there for Camelphat. Show last night was hottttttt as hell, crowd was dense, people were passing out, and the venue has the audacity to charge $8 for a bottle of water, plus an additional $2 auto-gratuity? For a water bottle???
$10 water ain’t it 👎👎👎
I got a new LED light wand recently and wanted to test it out on some hot metal. I secured permission from my former boss at CCC Manhattan to stick around after-hours and shoot some photos, here are the results:

Cannot wait for this show, feel bad for anyone who misses it
Haven’t been to Classic Car Club before though, what’s it like as a music venue?
Visiting Manhattan for two days in late November, did all the touristy stuff on previous visits, so wondering now what there is to do that would interest me as a car guy (apart from spotting the odd supercar and visiting flagship showrooms).
Thankful for any suggestions. Greetings from Dubai.
Our whole family had an amazing time at the NYC Rivian experience today. We have had an R1S reservation for over a year and this was the first time we actually got to sit in one. Highly recommend it if they do a similar event again.
