I’ve seen a fair number of horror movies in my 27 years on this planet. Among my favorites of all time would have to be The Exorcist, John Carpenters The Thing, The Shining and Bela Lugosi’s Dracula.
But there’s also a huge amount I’ve probably never seen as well, either in color or in black and white. Like Jaws, The Omen, The Wicker Man, Rosemarys Baby, etc. Heard of them but never seen them.
So I was hoping some of you fine people could help me drum up a list of movies I must see. Again, they can be in black and white or in color. But I’d prefer if they’re ones considered classics by most audiences. So nothing from the 90s onward, even if there’s also great films there.

Answer (1 of 10): I’d suggest watching some horror film classics. Perhaps a few from 1930s, 40’s and 50’s. They aren’t blood soaked, or slasher films. I like all kinds of horror films myself but some of the older ones even dealing with heavy censorship still managed to pack a punch.
