I don't understand. Everywhere I go, every route I take to trying to login to claude takes me to their onboarding page at "https://claude.ai/onboarding"
This just prompts me to create an account. I put in my phone # and enter the verification code and it says # in use, use a different number.
Uhm... no? I'd simply like to login?
This is literally insane.
Anthropic website says that Claude Code is available with the Pro Plan, after installations (v1.0.10) login is only available with your own token or max plan. Is this a bug?

I want to test Claude Code using the limited free credits I believe you get with a non Pro account. To do this which login method should I use:
-
Claude account with subscription Starting at $20/mo for Pro, $100/mo for Max - Best value, predictable pricing
-
Anthropic Console account API usage billing
Hey all,
I’m running Claude Code in multiple terminals to handle heavy workloads. I have two accounts (each with a €200/month limit), so I switch between them when I hit usage caps. But honestly, this manual process is annoying as hell.
Here’s what I’ve tried and where I’m stuck:
I attempted to write a helper script (Python and JS) to wrap around the claude CLI, automate /login, select “option 1” (login via Claude account), open the browser, etc.
Both approaches failed—my scripts can’t reliably select the right login option after /login, and automating the browser step seems brittle or blocked.
3 questions come to mind:
How are you automating logins, session switching, or multi-account management for Claude Code?
Has anyone successfully scripted the /login flow, including selecting options and handling browser auth?
Are there best practices, wrappers, or SDKs that make this easier? I saw Anthropic released an official Python SDK—can it help with session management or is it just for code generation?
Thanks in advance!
Claude asks me to authorize again (and again after about 1 week), It leads to me to initial screen where I choose theme setup and everything again, but that's not the problem. It removes all the installed mcps and I have to setup them again. after checking the `.claude.json` file I realized it is newly created and previous file is still there as `.claude.json.corrupted.1751716847098`.
Have anyone faced the same issue and understand it's cause and how to fix it?
Hi, I've spent hours banging my head against a stupid problem with Claude Code: I access my Mac Mini via SSH from Fedora, launch Claude, do /login, it says "login successful"... and then on the first prompt, it tells me again "Missing API key, run /login".
I also tried directly from the Mac Mini's terminal without SSH, but I had the same issue.
I thought it was an installation bug or a multi-device problem, so I tried a fresh install, complete removal, everything...
In the end, I discovered it's an issue with the macOS keychain.
In the terminal (in my case, I did it directly from SSH) by unlocking the keychain with:
security unlock-keychain
and then starting Claude and doing the login.
I hope at least this post can help someone, since I spent like an hour trying to solve it.
Hi there, what credentials should I use, when I actually do not have any, if I want to use claude code in terminal? I have pro plan. I did not find any information about this. Thank you very much!
Been using code cli (pay as you go) and claude pro plan for a few months now.
The docs *now* indicate that a user can connect their pro plan account to their code cli. However, when I use the login in shows only 1) sign up for max, or 2) use the api pay-as-you-go. Inquiring with the online help doesn't provide a solution.
Here is the:

I am logged in to both services with the same login/account. Has anyone fixed this?
Since yesterday, I have been unable to log-in to Claude. Instead of sending verification codes to my email, they are now sending "secure-link" buttons, however, they are not working, and clicking them just redirects to claude ai with a message reading:
We were unable to verify you with this link
Has this happened to anyone else? I am not seeing any relevant help on the support pages of Anthropic nor any announcement related to phasing-out verification codes in favor of clickable link buttons.
Today, I just saw this article about claude code and see that they added claude code to pro plan. But you will only get 10-40 prompts every 5 hours. What do you guys think?
yes claude is down, api errors, nice halloween spook claude.
The enter your email -> OTP flow seems so slow and unnatural. It also doesnt prefill with Keychain. Whats the reason they went with this flow instead of a typical username and password? Do you all find it annoying too?
I've used claude code with api keys in the past, my account has zero credits.
Today I was going to try the claude code with pro subscription, but it just does not work. Im using the latest version of the CLI tool and it still says balance too low. even after logout, login, at login now it says "Add $5 to procced" which makes no sense.
So, how to use it?
Latest CLaude Code is allowed officially to be used with Claude MAX, no more burning API tokens.
0.2.96
Claude Code can now also be used with a Claude Max subscription (https://claude.ai/upgrade)
https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md
Seem Anthropic want to push Claude Code as alternative to other tools like Cursor and push their Max subscription. May be one day a merge into Claude Desktop.

You can now delegate coding tasks to Claude without opening your terminal.
With Claude Code on the web, assign multiple tasks that run in parallel while you monitor and steer from your browser or iOS app.
It's ideal for tackling bug backlogs, routine fixes, and parallel development work. Each session runs in its own isolated environment on Anthropic-managed infrastructure to keep your code and credentials safe.
Claude Code on the web is available now in beta as a research preview for Pro and Max users.

I've been using Claude Code extensively since its release, and despite not being a coding expert, the results have been incredible. It's so effective that I've been able to handle bug fixes and development tasks that I previously outsourced to freelancers.
To put this in perspective: I recently posted a job on Upwork to rebuild my app (a straightforward CRUD application). The quotes I received started at $1,000 with a timeline of 1-2 weeks minimum. Instead, I decided to try Claude Code.
I provided it with my old codebase and backend API documentation. Within 2 hours of iterating and refining, I had a fully functional app with an excellent design. There were a few minor bugs, but they were quickly resolved. The final product matched or exceeded what I would have received from a freelancer. And the thing here is, I didn't even see the codebase. Just chatting.
It's not just this case, it's with many other things.
The economics are mind-blowing. For $200/month on the max plan, I have access to this capability. Previously, feature releases and fixes took weeks due to freelancer availability and turnaround times. Now I can implement new features in days, sometimes hours. When I have an idea, I can ship it within days (following proper release practices, of course).
This experience has me wondering about the future of programming and AI. The productivity gains are transformative, and I can't help but think about what the landscape will look like in the coming months as these tools continue to evolve. I imagine others have had similar experiences - if this technology disappeared overnight, the productivity loss would be staggering.

was using claude code all night and everything was working fine, then all of a sudden i see API error. I was at about 10% session usage btw, with only about 5% usage for the whole week. Tried logging in on the website too, but it won't let me authenticate via google?? Anyone else having the same issues?
EDIT - https://status.claude.com/ many others are reporting the same issue, seems like their service is down ATM
