Is there an application or website where I can input the alcohol I have in my bar and the juices I have available that will produce a list of cocktails and their recipes?
Happy New Year!
I'm a long-time lurker, first time poster, but today I'm happy to announce my passion project of the last 3 years is ready - www.knowthydrink.com
Why another cocktail app?
-
Every recipe built onto a nutrition calculator for easy analysis, including alcohol content, calories, and allergens
-
Easy to add your own cocktails using the cocktail builder
-
Any publicly accessible cocktail in the database is easily customized and saved for your own use
-
Totally free (ad supported)
-
Login NOT required if you're simply customizing cocktails to share via URL
-
Nothing to download - all via browser on the web
-
With login (still free) you get:
-
My Bar feature, where you can search by ingredients you have available on-hand
-
Favorites menu - cocktails you have 'liked'
-
Easy access to recipes you created
-
Right now it's built on a series of ingredients I've added, which I intend on increasing, but if you notice any glaringly obvious / popular ingredients missing I'm happy to add ASAP. I have a list of new features I'm working on implementing, and some premium features that will eventually be available via a very low monthly subscription (which will also disable ads) that is a work in progress.
I would LOVE your feedback - please use it, and hit me up with any suggestions (and hopefully you don't find any bugs or issues - but if you do discover any, I'd love to know so I can address them 😅 )
And finally to pay the recipe tax, my favorite go-to cocktail, I call the 'Dark & Tropical Stormy' - It's effectively my riff the classic Dark-N-Stormy but with some bitters and pineapple juice:
https://www.knowthydrink.com/recipe/dark-and-tropical-stormy
-
6 Oz Ginger Beer
-
2 Oz Pineapple Juice
-
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
-
2 Oz Dark Rum
-
0.5 Oz Lime Juice
-
Garnish with Lime Wedge
Happy drinking!
Hi, I know I'm not posting a cocktail - I hope this is allowed as it's the most relevant subreddit.
Note: I do not mind paying for the app, but would really prefer it not be all about serving ads every couple seconds. I've tried a couple but found them to be clunky or just allow searches by name etc.
