I am 67 years old, short and fat with flat feet. What on earth can I wear that meets a cocktail dress code. I am already in tears at the thought of shopping for the event. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in Australia in Queensland. Wedding is in Sydney. Thank you for your help.

Wedding outdoors or under tent at an expensive club in August, starts at 6pm. Bride said she hoped people will wear bright colors but it is not in the invite, that just says "summer cocktail." I am over 60 and almost never wear dresses or skirts because I can get vertigo (if you fall in pants it is just slightly less embarassing that way, rather than skirts all up over your head.) I love jumpsuits but pant/top combo would be easier for me and probably fit better. I was thinking navy palazzo with matching draped cowl short-sleeve top, with silk wrap scarf, olive green sandal and a matching straw clutch. Sound ok? A bit worried about the clutch but it is summery, and my evening clutches otherwise are pretty but satin or metallic.
