I've been doing Udemy, it really depends on what course you buy, mine, the guy teaches you how to install and configure your IDE, so you can program with him and do the exercises along the course. I have two monitors, so I watch the classes on one, and write code on the other one, it's pretty interactive and I've learned a bunch of stuff so far. Answer from Deleted User on reddit.com

r/pythontips on Reddit: DataCamp or CodeAcademy?
February 5, 2024 -

Hello to everyone reading!!!

My name is Andrew I am 19 years old student.

Considering to start learning code and now I am picking the platform to start and stick with it at least a month to learn the basics of the basics.

Googled many websites like Udemy/Youtube/DataCamp/CodeAcademy/Brilliant

Udemy - Offer various videos and courses about many topics and good quality, but you do not have an option to interact with the code at the real time. I am writing down all I learned and then use PyCharm

YouTube - The same as Udemy, but in my opinion offer more basics quality video but its free.

DataCamp - I tried the free version of it. Until now it was an entertaining experience, But the trial ended and now it's 25bucks a month. Its offer a real time practice about what you learn and have good UX.

CodeAcademy - Used the paid option in the past. Lasted for a month(I think it's a problem in me and not the website). Plenty courses and topics to learn. Giving a good practice about what you learn even sometimes I googled things.

Brilliant - The best UX experience until now. But it's more about logical thinkings and less really coding. Should I consider it like secondary source?? (And that coming with paid subscription)?

WHAT TO PICK??? (OR I AM TOO MUCH TRYHARD ABOUT IT?)

Thanks to everyone helping me out!!!!!!

Codecademy VS DataCamp for Python: What's your experience in 2023/2024?
I’ve been using DataCamp since the start of the pandemic, and have recently completed the Professional Data Scientist Certification. DataCamp allowed me to bolster my skills to transition to working as a Data Scientist full time. Previously I was a mechanical engineer that used MATLAB in school and wrote some moderately difficult SQL queries. Now I’m a lead data scientist at a Fortune 200 company. I highly recommend DataCamp. Datacamp vs. Codecademy for DataScience/ML/MLOps Job?
Congrats on the ML engineer role! That MLOps timeline is aggressive but doable. I went through something similar when i transitioned from pure research to building production systems - the learning curve is real but you'll get there. For structured learning, I'd lean toward DataCamp for your situation. Their MLOps track is pretty solid and covers the basics you'll need - containerization, CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring. Codecademy is great for general programming but their ML/DevOps content feels more scattered. That said, neither platform will fully prepare you for real production challenges. We learned this the hard way at Okahu when we started building tools for AI engineers - the gap between course material and actual production systems is huge. You'll want to supplement with hands-on practice deploying models to cloud platforms. The books are good but for MLOps specifically, grab "Machine Learning Engineering" by Andriy Burkov if you haven't already. Also start playing with Docker and Kubernetes now - even just running tutorials locally. Set up a simple model deployment pipeline on AWS or Azure free tier. The project manager expecting you to handle MLOps in 3-5 months tells me they probably don't have mature ML infrastructure yet, which means you'll be building from scratch. That's actually an opportunity - you can start simple and grow into it rather than inheriting someone else's complex setup. More on reddit.com

Data Camp, Data Wars or Codeacademy
I think it depends a lot on how you learn. I found that project-based courses were better for me in terms of solidifying my knowledge and understanding. These would be my recommendations (I saw you said you were looking at SQL, data viz, and Python): Colt Steele's SQL course on Udemy Mode .com's SQL tutorial Maven Analytics' courses (I'm definitely biased with this one but I swear our courses and challenges helped me get my first job) More on reddit.com

May 12, 2024 - The interface in Datacamp is also so much more sophisticated, for instance with tips of what you did wrong, like “did you place ( ) between XYZ”. Furthermore, the deeper into a topic, the more it was just a matter of copy and pasting code. Pricing is also similar, which makes Datacamp ideal choice for leanring Data skills. And , if you’re going to learn web development and programming in general, you could choose CodeCademy.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for the most efficient way to learn Python, I'm torn between Codecademy and DataCamp as the main options. Do you think this comparison is accurate https://self-starters.com/datacamp-vs-codecademy/? I want to start a side project for data analysis written in Python but I don't want to change my career.

Can anyone share their experiences with either or both? I'm particularly interested in which one offers a more comprehensive and beginner-friendly approach to learning Python. Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.
