I've been consistently participating in every CodeChef contest for the last 5-7 rounds, not missing a single one. In today's contest, I started with a 1360 rating. I solved the first question within a minute, the second one in about 10 minutes, and the third in the next 20 minutes. So, three questions solved within 30 minutes, no wrong submissions, no contest missed β everything on point.
So why the hell did my rating barely move? After solving 3 questions in under 30 minutes, my rating only went up by +2. Seriously? What's the point of grinding daily, solving everything fast and clean, if the rating system doesn't reflect it at all? Can someone actually explain how this makes any sense? This is getting really frustrating.
First year, learning DSA.
So, today I was giving my contest on codechef. Started kinda late (30 min).
Solved a bunch of problems. Then, because I started late, I wasn't that exhausted (solved 4 problem, could have solved one more if I got 1-2 min extra).
Then I thought to see the toppers profile. Top 20:
6 of them had previously cheated on their profile and were new account.
5 of them had given 1 contest only and reached 1400-1500.
Others were kinda genuine dudes who had ton of contest. Some had time gap so they might have learnt during that time. No sign of cheating.
The Problem:
Do I control Cheaters? No. But I can't control my feelings. It's hard to put in efforts, slowly I am learning and improving my rank. Feels like I should cheat (Ik I won't. lol). Anyway, a guy messaged me that he provides solution for Codeforces and codechef on telegram. It's been bothering me for a while.
Feeling exhausted. After every contest, I am usually exhausted by it. On days that I have given contests, I have solved 0 problems on Leetcode. Every contest, I am exhausted by the session and doesn't feel like learning afterwards.
Why:
So, what's the point of giving contest then? I feel like learning about DSA for now is far more beneficial than contest.
Is there's something that I am missing?
Does rating matters?
Any advice will be helpful. Thanks in Advance
