Cody: The BEST character turned into the weirdest/most uncomfortable
SML Theory: The reason why Cody's been acting weird in the most recent SML Videos.

3D Junior, Joseph And Cody
Has anybody else noticed how awful Cody has become nowadays? Before he was weird but with a quirk that made him funny and he used to make inventions and really awesome episode ideas. Nowadays, Cody has become the 1 joke guy of being haha get it i’m gay, and this joke has only gotten worse because of Timmy and Logan’s terrible writing. The 2 latest episodes of him at his worst has to be StinKEN and especially Cody’s Hotdog Restaurant, they’re both ONLY talking about a 15 year olds ass and how many wieners they can stick down their mouth, these jokes have become way too unfunny and frankly uncomfortable. The plots nowadays are not even interesting and I wish they would remove Timmy from the show as his Femboy personality and probably bisexual trait is only making Cody’s weird fantasies come to light. Please PLEASE Logan turn Cody back into the funny nerd that used to make cool inventions and be weird, he was so much better back in the old episodes.
Listen, I know you've noticed how weird Cody's been acting in recent SML videos. His character seems a bit different lately—almost like he's aware of things the other characters aren’t. In the most recent video, *SML Movie: Junior's Stepmom!*, around the 7:01 mark, Cody starts going off on this strange rant about Chef Pepe’s job. He actually looks at the camera (or maybe at Junior) and says, "I don't even know how all of this started. I mean, Chef Pepe's kind of… always worked here, and he can't quit? How did this start? There was a whole series where Chef Pepe actually quit and went to do other things, and now he's just back? We never really resolved that. How did that happen?"
This moment was so strange because it wasn’t just a casual comment—it felt like Cody was genuinely frustrated, almost like he himself is starting to question the continuity of his world. This could just be a random fourth-wall break—there have been more of those recently—but Cody’s reaction seemed more intense than just a typical joke. He seems almost… aware? And honestly, I can’t help but feel like he’s been acting oddly for a while now, like this could be leading to something bigger, maybe even a plot twist in a future episode.
I think it would be amazing to get some deeper Cody lore in SML. We rarely get any real backstory or lore on the SML characters, except for moments like Jeffy’s birthday each year, where we get a glimpse of his past. But Cody, out of all the characters, feels like he has the potential for a deeper backstory that hasn’t been explored yet. It would be so interesting if they started building a storyline around him where he questions the weird, sometimes inconsistent world they live in. I feel like adding some real lore could make his character even more intriguing.
Maybe I’m overthinking it. But even Junior’s line, "I don't know how all of this started," feels loaded, almost as if the writers want us to pick up on some of the gaps in the story. The pieces are starting to add up for me. What if they’re building to something like how Mario had to go to another universe or dimension when his old one was falling apart? Or maybe it’s tied to the new puppets, like we’re actually in a completely different dimension from before. It would explain a lot of the inconsistencies, like characters coming and going or events that are suddenly different.
Then there’s my second theory. Remember in *SML Movie: Summer School! Part 3* when Cody was reading an autobiography about himself? The book seemed like it could predict the future or give Cody insights into himself and his role. What if that book actually gave Cody a kind of meta-awareness? I’m curious just how much he knows about his own character and story. The fact that he had the book in the first place makes me wonder if he’s somehow learning about the nature of his reality.
So maybe I’m just being paranoid, but I feel like these moments are hinting at something bigger. What if this is all building up to new lore? The SML universe has always been random and chaotic, but maybe there’s a reason for it that Cody is starting to uncover.
