Appointment Required: You must schedule an appointment to renew your license, permit, or ID in person at a STATE DMV office. Schedule your appointment here. Fourteen counties also offer driver license services- check out state and county driver license locations here.
Is the DMV *actually* appointment only?
There are two types of DMVs: the state and the county. The state ones are by appointment only and you HAVE to go there for brand new drivers licenses and permits. There is only one state office in the Springs (at Union and Van Buren). The state offices only do drivers licenses, not registrations. But as long as you have a license already, even from another state, you can do it at the county offices. The county offices basically contract with the state to help with existing drivers license transfers (out-of-state switching to a Colorado license) or renewals. They also do all vehicle registrations and renewals. If you are coming from out of state, you will need your physical out-of-state license and a full size birth certificate or passport as well as proof of residency (utility bill or something with your name and address). The county is walk in only, no appointments. There are several offices: Garden of the Gods, Powers and Airport, Union Town Center (north), and Fort Carson. Powers and Airport is very busy but the lines go pretty fast. Saturdays at Union Town Center are fast too as it is extra staffed with clerks from all locations. And the greeters at the county offices are there to help you make sure you are at the right place and that you have all the documentation you need. Source: I am married to one of the county greeters. How long did it take at the DMV to get your license?
They do not accept walk ins. They only accept appointments (I tried walking in and was turned away). I just took care of this a few months ago with an out of state license. Also, you’ll get a piece of paper until you get it in the mail. For us that took less than 5 days. More on reddit.com
DMV - Anyone know the reason its still appointment only?
I might be only one of few but I like that every place is appt only or reserved times, I think it’s easier to schedule stuff and no unexpected long wait times/busy-ness.🙂 More on reddit.com

Emission's testing centers are still currently closed and unfortunately we do not have a timeline on when they will re-open. If you are unable to renew your vehicle online due to emission's closures or other circumstances please visit this link https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/how-covid-19-closure-affects-vehicle-services A much better solution would be to cancel emissions testing (allow one-time registrations without it) until the test centers can reopen. This is going to be a total mess when it reopens and it's completely unnecessary. More on reddit.com

Is that serious? I've lived in some places that say that and you can just walk in still. It's expensive to uber there but I need to make like three different appointments. One to get my permit, one to get my license, and one to get my car registered. I got rear ended a few months ago without insurance, and I didn't know my Florida license was expired because I got a Colorado State ID.
I have court in a few weeks, and appointments are booked out for month. If I can get all these things done, they'll drop the charges. If not, I get my license revoked for two years.
Can I just walk into the DMV and wait a millenia and get this stuff done? If not, what are my options? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
