I'm shipping a package from Canada to California, and I know I should include 3 copys of the commercial invoice. Should I tape all 3 to the box? Should I put them in a pladtic sleeve and then taped to the box? Thanks!

My partner and I applied for him to get pr through me (citizen, born in Canada) and all is going well. We're at the stage where they requested passport photos, photocopy, return label/envelope and commercial invoice.

Our commercial invoice has been returned 3 times now with a form letter, av3, that doesn't tell us anything about how to fill it in. The first time, we went to a ups store to help us fill it out since the label was ups, and they had no idea how to fill one out (we're in the US). Second time, we filled only what the av3 said (exporter, consignee, and check that we pay for the fees). It was returned. Then we filled it all in, along with tracking number and signed it, returned yet again.

Can anyone please tell us exactly what we need to fill and what we leave empty for them to accept it? We're at our wits' end. All we keep getting back are form letters with zero information about what we need to actually fix.

I have a parcel going from UK to US. I put three of the invoices they give you on the box with the label (secured as well as the parcels I’ve sent over the past few years). Now my parcel has no delivery date (was 26th Dec) and says “Clearance Info Required” and that there’s a “Missing Commercial Invoice” (there wasn’t). I haven’t been able to email or call them, but I see the website has an option to add a file to a tracking number.

I’ve downloaded the template from their site but I’m a little confused as to how to fill it in since the one that came with my label was just “where’s it from, and going, and what’s in it?” basically.

What do I input for Tax ID if my missus and I are just doing it as a gift? What’s the Incoterms terms of sales? And what’s the information regarding the importer section?

Can I not just fill in the Me sending it to Her details, package weird her and cost, and submit that?
