Hey y'all, I'm finally looking to get my exam voucher (USA), but they seem pricier than before.
I'm seeing a single voucher from CompTIA for $392, a single voucher on TotalSem for $351.99, and a voucher bundle on TotalSem for $476.91.
Has anyone seen anything cheaper around? I definitely want to get the bundle just in case, but almost $500 seems insane to me.
Thanks for any help!

Seeing exam voucher for $262 on compTIA—acad website but not sure what this ACAD thing is. Can I use this voucher to take the exam? TIA!
I’m trying to wrap my head around CompTIA’s Security+ voucher pricing. When I talked to them directly, they said the only place to buy vouchers is from them. ( Yet I read here that partners all just do ~10% off all day)
But then I see places like Training Camp and GetCertified4Less offering 15%-20% off**.** Meanwhile, every other cert I’ve done (Cisco, Microsoft, ISC2, etc.) has basically one set price, MAYBE a student discount, and that’s it.
Why is CompTIA all over the place with pricing? Why does it feel like there are 10+ different “official” prices floating around?
For context, I’m not new to this. I hold multiple technical certs already. Just curious if there’s a reason CompTIA is so different here.
FYI I am trying to budget, hence the question.
I'm looking online at the prices for exams, and they range from $200 - $500 between the A+ - CYSA+...
That $400/$500 is insane... especially for an exam you take once and its either a pass or fail. Then you retake again once and thats it its a pass or fail completely.
Please go to https://academic-store.comptia.org and buy your vouchers there. You can get more than 50% off if you're a student. Very easy to verify your status so please don't buy the full price if you're a student. I made that mistake when purchasing A+ Core 1 for $222, then found out about it and paid $112 for Core 2!
Let me know if you have questions!
Hello Everbody, I am prepapring for Security+ and currently looking if there is any option to get discount for exam? if not so do you recommend any boundle?
Looks like the warning someone posted about the price increase was true.
After looking on the comptia website and seeing one certain costs 1/3 of my paycheck, I wonder how can I afford it?
I want to move up, get a better job, but I'm stuck and need some help.
Hey guys,
Im thinking of taking the exam for security+, however I was under the wrong impression that it would cost me around 350-370 bucks, which appears to not be the case. If I get the voucher from Pearson VUE, its 470$, I checked Dion, but he doesnt offer vouchers for my eastern european country. I then went to Professor Messer and he has an explicit warning that his vouchers are only for people who are physically in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, or Guam.
Is there a place where I could save some money on the exam, since nearly 500 bucks is a bit too much for me.
Thank you in advance!
Edit: I found a way to discount it a bit. If i buy a voucher directly from Comptia, instead of Pearson VUE, I can get it for 390$ and I can use an additional 10% discount with a code - "ITCareers10". This makes the total cost 350$ which is a lot better.
I am not sure how much however, if you can buy your exam - I'd do it now.
You can get 35% off with student discount.
Here is the my resources everyone.

Or best just to bite the bullet and pay full price? I’m a little worried about trusting sources that aren’t 100% verified.

Ive seen some folks are paying maybe too much for exam vouchers. This link:
https://academic-store.comptia.org/certification-vouchers/c/11332
Lists various exam vouchers such as $97 for A+, $150 for Net+, and $209 for Sec+ and so on. Take a look. Cheers!
For those looking to purchase exam vouchers and bundles there is a 10% discount when you chat to the virtual assistant after logging into the CompTIA store website. The discount code I got said it expires 31 Oct 2025.
I am currently a student in high school going through my junior year and want to begin to study and take exams for certs. Right now im focusing on my security+ and have been studying for the last month but can’t afford the full price of the voucher. I tried using the student discount on compTIAs website but the high school discount only applies to 4 exams none of which are security+. If anyone has any knowledge or methods in which I could even get $50 off the exam price please let me know. I currently have a job but all my money goes to gas and food. Anything would help thank you so much!
I’ve been searching for the best place to buy a Security+ voucher, and after some digging, it looks like my only low-cost option is the official CompTIA store. Professor Messer’s voucher ends up costing about $362 USD (around ₹31,000), while the CompTIA official store offers it for $276 USD (about ₹23,642), which is significantly cheaper. Dion Training doesn’t provide vouchers for India, so that’s off the table.
I’m posting here to check if anyone knows of any other legitimate options that are even cheaper than the CompTIA official store. If you’ve found a better deal or have any tips, please let me know!
How much does everything cost (study materials + exam)?
