I've used all in ones before but don't see one for the current security plus so I'm reaching out to see if there's a good one by another author.
I found out that the best way for me to get ready for a certificate is studying books but I like when the book goes beyond and more deep than just the topic Any recommendation? Or should I just study the official guide ?

Hey guys! It's me again! After some thought and consideration, I'd love to share my notes/study guide that I used to pass the Security+ exam! I've had a friend who used my study guide as a resource say it really helped me pass the exam as well! So might as well give it to the community and help future exam takers as well, or may I say the future Security+ certified!
For everyone who asked from the last post, here you go!
Ultimate CompTIA SY0-701 Security+ Study Guide
It's all organized per lesson! Each lesson has a heading where under each lesson has a topic, and under each topic has the chapters!
I enabled bookmarks for easier navigation as well! There's also a Table of Content where if you click on the page numbers, it takes you directly there!
Enjoy everyone and happy studying! I hope it helps!
Has anyone passed Security+ without reading a book? Can you pass it just by watching the videos and doing the practice exams?
Which book is best for N+ and Security+? I see the All-In-One and Sybex. I learn best from reading physical pages, but a PDF would be good as well. I do not retain the info as well with online courses. Any other resources I am not considering?
Hi, I’m about to complete my Google Cybersecurity course on Coursera, and I plan to take the Security+ certification before my knowledge fades. However, I’m unsure which study materials would be easy to understand and self-explanatory for a beginner like me. I have no prior IT background, and this cybersecurity course is my first exposure to the field. That said, I’m really enjoying it and want to dive deeper into cybersecurity.
Any recommendations for beginner-friendly Security+ study resources, including YouTube channels, study material links, or online study websites, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Our study guide is for a previous version of the exam so I've put it online. I can see it covers much of the current version topics but you will need to some some more reading to cover the new topics.

I’m getting ready to buy a study guide and practice exams books and would like to know which are the best ones to buy? I prefer books over ebooks because it’s easier for me to reference and markup. Thanks for your help.
Hi all,
I'm going to attempt the Security+ exam and hoping to get advice on study resources.
I have looked at the master list of resources and have narrowed down my book choice to Mike Chapple's "CompTIA Security+ Study Guide: Exam SY0-601 8th Edition" and "Mike Meyer's CompTIA Security+ Certification Passport 6th Edition". I'm leaning towards Mike Chapple's book as it has more practise questions at 650 vs 200 questions.
Regarding the video courses, I am thinking between Jason Dion and Professor Messer. Jason's is longer so I'm assuming it is more detailed but I'm having a hard time choosing between the two.
Any advive regarding these two choices is greatly appreciated!
What's the best (or is there an official) Security+ book to study by? What are also considered the best methods to learning the Sec+ material and passing the test?
I'm planning to take the Security+ SY0-701 exam soon, but I’m on a tight budget.
Do you think it’s possible to fully prepare using just free materials — mainly Professor Messer’s YouTube videos, free practice tests, and maybe some Reddit advice?
Has anyone passed without paying for Udemy courses or the official study guide?
Any tips on what to focus on or which free PBQ-style practice tools to use?
Thanks in advance!
Currently about to start studying for my Security+ and was wondering what 601 book was regarded as the best. Was thinking of Darril Gibson's, as his 501 book was highly rated, but I haven't heard much praise about his 601. Thanks!
My library provides me with access to these books and I plan on using one for learning the actual content and one for taking practice exams, lmk which of these are good

Hii!, I'm studying for the CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 exam and trying to select between these two study guides: "CompTIA Security+ SY0-701 Certification Guide" by Ian Neil and "CompTIA Security+ Study Guide: Exam SY0-701" by David Seidl and Mike Chapple.
I'm not sure which would be more easy and helpful for the preparation. Has anyone used one or both of these books? What are your thoughts on these? Any advice??
Hi all,
I did look at the subreddit and wanted to know what book you guys would recommend to study for Sec+? Would greatly appreciate your feedback on my book purchase.
I’m a broke, fresh uni grad so naturally, I couldn’t afford the study materials that are from the CompTIA website. And free version of official study guide for Security+ SY0-601 is literally so hard to find, I spent days looking through academic resource archives. I was about to give up when I finally found it. My exam was scheduled for two days after my find, so I crammed all that I can into those two days, sleeping in total of 3 hours in the span of 2 and a half day to swift through the 700 page book. Needless to say, I passed :) Let me know if I can help anyone out!
Which book are you all reading? Ian Neil is great and I been watching Messer videos. Also doing practice tests. Any tips to pass? I will finish whole book at end of month. Plan to take test in May. Also any experience taking test at home? I may do test at a site.
