Hey guys! It's me again! After some thought and consideration, I'd love to share my notes/study guide that I used to pass the Security+ exam! I've had a friend who used my study guide as a resource say it really helped me pass the exam as well! So might as well give it to the community and help future exam takers as well, or may I say the future Security+ certified!

It's all organized per lesson! Each lesson has a heading where under each lesson has a topic, and under each topic has the chapters!
I enabled bookmarks for easier navigation as well! There's also a Table of Content where if you click on the page numbers, it takes you directly there!

SY0-601 retirement and 701 study material
SY0-601 Security+ was launched November 12, 2020. That usually means that the replacement (presumably SY0-701) will release in November of 2023 and the exam for the existing/older one will retire six months later - about mid-May of 2024. (There is a normally a six-month overlap where the new exam and the old exam are both offered) So, if some form of cybersec is in your career future, it is certainly worth pursuing the current SY0-601 Security+ certification. I passed the 701 three weeks ago. There is barely 10%-15% new material on the 701 exam. You can use 601 resources to prepare for most of the topics. I recommend the All in One book or the Sybex book. Download the 601 and 701 exam objectives from the CompTIA website and compare them side-by-side. Highlight the new topics for the 701 and research them on your own. More on reddit.com

Wow, maybe i should just go for 701 too? I wonder if you were just lucky to get the same content from 601; I’m afraid I might not be as lucky taking 701 by studying using 601 content. More on reddit.com

Looking at knocking out Net + in the up comming months and then was going to move on to Sec+ , from what I gathered 601 will retire Novemberish. I do not have faith in myself to complete both by the end of the year, so would it be safe to wait for the 701 training material to be available and then start my studies?
Or does 601 have a few months into 2024 to truley expire? My original goal was to try complete Sec+ early next year but I would hate to study for 601 and it be retired by the time I am ready to take the exam.
In short: can I take SY0-601 exam in March 2024 or should I wait for the SY0-701 material to come out? And when will that be ?

I’m preparing for the security+ (SY0-701) and i’m trying to find the best study material available. Right now i am using Jason Dions security+ (SY0-701) complete course & Exam on udemy, but heard from many users on reddit that his content is outdated so i’m not sure if i want to continue with that. If anyone has any recommendations for guides, videos or other material please let me know! Thank you.
