I'm getting a i5 12600k for gaming. I'm not sure how much to spend on a motherboard. Also is there any performance advantage of getting a z690 over b660? Thanks.
I spent a lot of time researching the topic in question, watching reviews, comparisons and checking local prices. I came up with some options but it is difficult for me to decide now.
Before we start, it is important to know that I am switching from an 8 years old i7-4790 build and I always aim for 1080p medium quality on 75 hz so I am absolutely not about min-maxing and the maximum amount I would spend on a new gpu is the 6600 xt.
I also wish to use this new setup for a long time somewhat similarly to my current build.

Ryzen 5 3600
230 USD
(All prices are converted from local european prices)
This is the cheapest build I can choose, the 3600 should be enough to utilize a 6600xt close to maximum although it leaves some performance in the gpu. There are options for ryzen 5000 series upgrade in the future.

Ryzen 5 5600
300 USD
For 5600 I need more expensive board for bios flashback feature. It can utilize a 6600xt fully and I would not have to think about upgrading for a lot of time. The downside is the only substantial upgrade option is the 5800x3d.

Asus tuf gaming b660m plus
I3-12100f
280 USD
Same performance as the r5 3600 for 50 usd more because Intel boards are priced higher.
The advantage is this option seem to provide more versatile upgrade options in the future considering the 13th series i5 chips.
I would be glad if you could provide some advice about these builds.
