To start off, comp sci and the IT industry is heavily saturated. It's a struggle for ppl to get CS coop placement. But the program itself is okay and good. Typically you would need to work harder than the kid who go to ivey schools for compsci such as waterloo, etc. More on reddit.com

Not sure how it compares to other unis, but I can give my experience. First year has two coding courses (Python then Java) but as with any CS program, TMU CS is about the concepts, not the code. It will go math-heavy in second year, then third year starts to get deep into the concepts. As for coop, it kinda sucks but you should do it anyways. Having work experience before you even graduate will be valuable for your career. However, TMU's coop program doesn't do much to help beyond giving you a list of open job postings. Find your own internships if you want to avoid writing 10 page work term reports and paying the $3500 coop fee. More on reddit.com
