Hello! I am looking to sell some of my clothing somewhere nearby. I plan to donate about 75% of my clothes, then sell brand name items at a thrift store nearby (Cambridge, greater Boston area). I am wondering where you all have had the best experiences selling clothes? They are not luxury or anything fancy, but good clothes in good condition. I am hoping to get at least some money back from them. Thanks!

No good recs on consignment shops unfortunately but I’m a hobby clothing reseller and unfortunately there’s an insane surplus of clothes in the world, so unless they’re very popular name brands it’s pretty hard to get inventory to move, and they’re worth very little compared to retail. If you want to try it yourself Poshmark and depop are popular reselling sites, as well as the traditional eBay!

My first thought is glass ripples, a new glassware shop in Davis. One of the few places I can think of off the top of my head that deals with vintage (and new) glassware.

Not exclusively geared towards designer brands, but We Thieves at Inman Sq frequently carries luxury vintage items. I almost talked myself into getting a vintage Hermès scarf for my nan once (it sold out before I made up my mind), and I’ve seen Chanel and Ferragamo shoes on their online inventory in the past. Raspberry Beret could be hit-or-miss — their regular in-store stock is pretty bleh, but establish a good relationship with the staff and they might set aside some exclusives (vintage Arden or Oscar de la Renta) for you. There’s an antique shop in Cambridge between twin city and lechmere station that’s kind of a consignment shop/flea market. A curated world on highland ave has vintage stuff but I’m not sure it’s a consignment shop.
