I'm honestly getting sick of it. In reality, Winsor should take an hour and a half to get there.
But the past 6 or more years, they have felt the need to constantly do some sort of construction down this stretch.. and it doesn't really improve the roadway.
Like this year, they have it down to one lane for quite some time, and you get stuck behind a slow car or truck going 70km.. All to repave the damn road. Like not even adding a 3rd lane, which is desperately needed at this point.
Why does Ontario waste our money like this? I wish they would just have used those 6 years to expand the whole thing to 3 lanes, and just leave it for a few decades. It would be nice to use the 401 with no construction on it whatsoever. I can't even remember a time that ever was a thing.

A lot of construction projects have wrapped up recently. While this is a good thing, there is a lot of new gravel on the sides of the road that hasn't yet settled / packed in which will happen over time.
The result is a lot of this loose gravel makes it's way onto the roadway and vehicles, especially big rig trucks, can kick it up. Keep a big distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, especially trucks to avoid being hit by rocks. I know people that have suffered cracked windshields, dents and scratches recently so wanted to pass this info along.
Safe travels this holiday season!
