Ok guys, here's the deal. I'm staying with my parents for a little bit and they do not like to use the AC. And we live in Chicago. So that's going to be fun.
Anyway, I struggle to sleep when I'm hot, so I have been looking into multiple options.
I found on amazon this blanket that claims to "lower body temperature by 10 degrees in 5 minutes." THIS SOUNDS LIKE BULLSHIT. Don't blankets RETAIN heat. That's why you wear them.
This blanket is not cooled, it's not chilled, it's not powered. It's a blanket that claims to lower your body temperature.
That is bullshit right?
EDIT - the impression I get from the comments is that there may be some blankets that SEEM cold when you put them on, but they are just going to eventually warm up regardless. I presume this is like when you rotate your pillow in the middle of the night and it feels cooler... until it gets hot again. Apparently some blankets, if you get hot, you just move over a little and let a separate part touch you and then it feels cool again. But it FEELS cool. I don't think the level of heat is lower than if you didn't have one. I think there are no blankets besides actually electronically cooled blankets that will actually cool you, and all blankets will trap heat to some extent, even if they feel cool. TELL ME IF THIS IS WRONG.
