Hey everyone. So summer is just around the corner where I live and I want to get a weighted blanket for the warmer weather. Some things of note.
1: I currently sleep under 2 or 3 comforters for the weight. 2: I only want about 10-15 pounds (enough weight to feel secure but still be able to move around comfortably) 3: I want a smaller size because I'll be sharing a queen size bed with my husband but won't be sharing the blanket and it drives me bananas when the blanket gets pulled off the side of the bed. 4: We don't have air conditioning, so the more cooling, the better. 5: we have cats and have to use a communal laundry, so it needs to be easy to wash and dry.
I've been sort of looking at the luna bamboo, the YnM bamboo and maybe the Bearby lyocell one. Are any of these good options or would you guys recommend something else.
Thanks so much for your time.
I need a certain level of weight to fall asleep and feel secure but with summer coming I get very hot and my AC window unit can’t keep the room very cold so I’m wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a weighted blanket that’s cooling? It doesn’t have to be very heavy - even 5 pounds I think would work, normally I like sleeping with a quilt and a cotton blanket on top and anything less than that I have trouble sleeping.

So here's the thing, I really want a weighted blanket because I sleep much better with a good amount of weight on me.
The problem is, the weighted blankets are all typically quite hot.. Which is a major problem for me.
I'm currently using a really thin duvet from Walmart that weighs next to nothing. I live in Canada, in the winter with the windows open. I typically have a AC unit in my room running until mid-winter. I have to flip my pillow constantly throughout the night or change it because it gets too hot.
I can't express quite how annoying this is for me because the duvet makes it hard to sleep because it's so thin, but at the same time if I use anything thicker I'll have my AC on blast. And the pillow thing is a whole other problem.
Now that that's out of the weight, are there any weighted blankets / duvets that you recommend are on the colder side of things? Something you would have mid summer?
Tl: Dr, what weighted blanket would you recommend for mid-summer temperature?
My partner hardly ever asks for much and they recently asked for a weighted blanket for Christmas. I’d love to really nail it - looking for one that really is weighted equally across the blanket please! Any help loved an appreciated.
I’m looking for a weighted/heavier weight blanket with cooling/not too overheating properties to use at night. Me and heat are not friends but I cannot sleep without the weight of blankets. I’ve got a cooling blanket rn but it’s very light so I have to stack other blankets on top. I’m really hoping to find recommendations for ones that don’t have the beads in them, I’ve had one of those in the past and it just kept leaking and the texture of that was a nightmare, any advice?
Like the title says. Considering the Hush cooling blanket 2.0. Would love anyone’s actual experience with this or any other cooling weighted blanket.
I’ve been using a weighted shoulder pad and have noticed that it helps a lot when I feel overwhelmed sensory wise. There have been a few times where I’ve wished I had a full weighted blanket.
Do weighted blankets that are cooling exist?
The issue is that I’m so sensitive to the heat and as my house has no insulation or central air conditioning, it gets incredibly hot in summer where it’s absolutely unbearable. I have been assessed for Sensory Processing Disorder and my brain is much more sensitive overall.
Im thinking a lightweight and cooling fabric would be helpful. Does this exist? Or any suggestions?
I’m in Australia, thanks!
Does anyone have any recommendations for weighted blankets for people that live in hotter climates year round? I'm currently looking at this one but I'm not sure if this is a good product or company. Heard some mixed reviews about Bearaby and Gravity but leaning towards a tree napper. Any help, experiences, or blanket recommendations are appreciated. I noticed a similar post a few days ago and there were some recommendations but I think I'd like to stay away from blankets with beads. I'm hoping the blanket will help with anxiety, insomnia, and other things.
Edit: Don't know if anyone will see this but thanks to those who helped me out and commented! I'm hoping to buy one soon so we'll see what happens :)
I’m looking for a weighted blanket for summer that will still keep me cool as I hate sleeping with light blanket when it gets hot. I’ve looked into a lot of popular brands but they’re all way too expensive for my budget, I’d like to avoid beads if I can but I’m open to options.
I was quite skeptical of weighted blankets when I first learned about them through a friend. I never really had issues with sleeping so it never crossed my mind to try one. However, once I got into grad school, that all changed. Almost everyone on my floor had a weighted blanket and had recommended me to get one as well. Needless to say, I did my research and settled with the Cooling Weighted Blanket from Luxome.
I weigh 145lbs and decided upon the 15lb blanket, which for me, is the perfect weight. They always recommend to get one that is 10% of your body weight which I feel is a good estimate.
The blanket itself is very high quality. The zipper is pretty well hidden and can be found near the tag of the blanket.
I love that one side is minky and plush which feels fuzzy and warm while the other side is made of bamboo and feels relatively cool. I sleep hot most of the time so the bamboo side helps a lot. This is not to say that the blanket doesn't keep you warm when using the bamboo side, but it helps you to not get too hot. The weight is surprising distributed well, so there was not area that felt heavier than another which was nice.
Washing was easy and they tell you to wash it cold with the cover removed from the blanket. This is a must if you don't want to ruin your blanket.
The blanket helps me fall asleep faster, but not instantly as some of my friends suggest. Overall, I have been having better sleep so that's a win in my book.
Now come my complaints. The only complaint I really have is there is no instruction video on how to tie the blanket back into the cover. I unfortunately did not notice how it was tied when I was removing it to wash so I could not replicate it. I did end up managing to create my own knot to tie them in, but the process was tedious. Perhaps an instructional video from Luxome on how to reattach the cover to the blanket would be nice. Or maybe a future idea to make it easier to attach would be interesting to see. Other than that, I find this blanket to be amazing. If this blanket ever goes on sale, I highly recommend buying it for cheaper even though I don't find the price to be unreasonable.
Hope you enjoyed this review!
Im a very hot sleeper. My first weighted blanket was from ghost bed it was almost perfect. Soft bamboo material with glass beeds and breathable with 15 pound weight. It lasted two years and started leaking beads. I would order from them again but theyre sold out. I tried to order a high quality one from luxome. Very pricey but good reviwes. Its very soft and good weight. But doesnt breath. AT ALL. each night ive had it ive woken up covered in sweat through out the night.
Any recomendations for a cooling weighted blanket. I cant do the wide knitted ones i need a full cover.
I'm looking for the best cooling option around $150. I'm mostly concerned with breathability and how the cover feels against the skin since I don't sleep with sheets. I'd prefer a traditional weighted blanket style over something like the Bearaby Napper, so these are the three options I've narrowed it down to.
Luxome Cooling
Sleep Number True Temp
Luna Bamboo
I'm leaning towards the Luxome since it seems to distribute the beads more evenly and has a variety of cover material options. I wish their full size was available in 20lb though, but they seem to make only one weight per size.
The Sleep Number might have the best fabric for cooling, but multiple reviews mention that it isn't very soft. It is also an odd size and doesn't have any other covers available for more warmth or softness.
The Luna is the most affordable option and is supposed to be pretty soft, but I've read that it might still be too warm for the summer. I definitely sleep better when I stay cool, so that is the primary consideration, followed by the softness of the fabric. Are there any better options I might have missed?
I can’t sleep. I need a lot of blankets for the weights and now I’m hot and I can’t get comfortable. I’m constantly tossing blankets and adding blankets. I need cooler options that still apply light pressure.
Help 🥱 Thank you!
ETA. I’m on HRT. It’s not night sweats. It’s our furnace plus the location of our bedroom making the room hot. We have fans. I posted here figuring if anyone knew of a not hot blanket it would be someone here since we’re going through it all… 😉😂
Looking for a blanket for my SO, who generally sleeps hot but likes some weight. Because of that, is currently sleeping under 3 blankets at once, which obviously causes him to get hot at night 😅.
Any suggestions for quality blankets/comforters (can be weighted but open to non weighted blankets that are just heavier but do not trap heat) that others have found success with would be super helpful!!
Budget: hope to stay under $200 if possible
I’m a super hot sleeper and have been struggling to sleep lately. Even with a cooling mattress and my heater (because it gets cold at night lol) set for X temp, I still wake up hot. Turning it off makes me hot. Putting cold air keeps me hot. I’m always hot! No matter what I do! I can literally have a sheet on and I’d still be hot or sweating
I’m ~ 235 and 5’5, so I don’t think length matters as much as the weight I need. But I really need something to keep me cool and able to sleep throughout the warmer and hotter months. I’m also a first time weighted blanket person, but I typically sleep with like... 5 comforters/heavy blankets during the winter so I think I’ll be fine as a first timer
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I am looking into weighted blankets at Gravity. I am debating between their regular weighted blanket vs cooling weighted blanket.
I am not a hot sleeper but I have no air-conditioner in my room for summer months, which leaves me absolutely starving for cold air, so I am considering the cooling one. But...I hate the sleeping bag-like feature it has so now, I'm considering just going with the regular. I really need a comfortable blanket.
I am going back and forth in my head and I genuinely don't know which one to go with..
Does anyone have any experience with either?
EDIT: I am only considering Gravity brand now, because I'm purchasing via my insurance and they are the only weighted blanket brand on there.
Personally I love being kinda cold at night when I try and sleep. I feel like I give off a lot of body heat and so does my significant other. Often we resort to just the top sheet or blasting the AC all night. I have just learned about cooling blankets. Does anybody own one? Are you happy with it? Does it work with 2 people? Thanks!!
