I want to undervolt and tweak my GPU, and I was wondering what is the best GUI based control center between LACT And CoreCtrl ?

I prefer LACT because it can run as a service with a config file. Perfect for Nixos.

CoreCtrl have the advantage of having profiles; a global one, custom created as many as you want that you can active and deactivate manually, and profiles per application automatically at launch. So you can create multiple configurations depending on the load you want to run. With more or less undervolt, power draw, core and memory clocks and fan curve. Even can manage the CPU governor. And it does very well.

Use at your own risk. Used lact, just seemed like it did exactly the same as core control. Looking at my model it says sustained ppt is the 290 I'm seeing. I'm just not seeing the 350w boot I guess? Windows always showed at the boost or at least the 330 at stock and 390 when I pushed the power slider +15.

The big advantage for me is that lact runs as a (systemd) daemon. This is more convenient for me than having to autostart CoreCtrl.

May 26, 2025 - I used CoreCtrl for a while in the past to tame my old GPU fan and it worked great. I've had no use for it since I changed gpu which is quiet by default. Still sad to see it go as it was very nice piece of SW. I wish all the best to the developer and hope he's alright. ... LACT is also superb, and on Flathub, so installation was a breeze.

I recently made the switch to as-rock 7900 XT Phantom Gaming and decided to give undervolting a try using CoreCtrl. After reading through the documentation on GitLab and watching a few tutorial videos, it seemed pretty straightforward.
I set the voltage offset to -95mV, adjusted my min/max GPU clocks, and left the memory settings untouched. I also cranked the power limit to the max.
Before the undervolt, I was getting around 70 FPS @ 1440p Ultra in Cyberpunk, with power draw peaking up to 330 watts and temperatures hovering around 68-70°C. After the undervolt, I’m still hitting the same FPS, but the card now draws between 150-200 watts, with temps staying around 55-60°C.
Is it really this easy? Would love to hear if anyone has additional tips or tricks for further optimizing my setup!

January 12, 2025 - I checked the power profile of the card before and after running CoreCtrl but none of those values change, they all stay the same, but still the GPU gets its full power back. I also tried using lact, but that doesnt give the same effect that CoreCtrl does.
