So I'm using Corectrl mainly as fancontrol and not for anything fancy as overclocking. But I can't find a way to start the program to let it run in the background. I'm using arch together with i3 wm. now everytime when I startup my system I have to open a command prompt enter: sudo corectrl (Because it doesn't start through dmenu) and then I hide the terminal together with the gui on my last tab ^^"

Assuming one isn’t included with the package, Take a look at creating a systemd unit for it. It’s pretty easy

Just wanted to add for my fellow Hyprland/Waybar users: If you are struggling to get the "start minimzed on system tray" feature to work properly this is what worked for me. The [CoreCtrl Wiki]( https://gitlab.com/corectrl/corectrl/-/wikis/Setup ) suggests using an autostart unit. For me, Waybar wasn't starting fast enough to make this work by default, so I changed my exec line in `~/.config/autostart/org.corectrl.CoreCtrl.desktop` to: `Exec=sh -c "sleep 3 && corectrl --minimize-systray"` Also keep the checkbox checked in the GUI. Not super elegant but it works fine for me. Hope this helps!

I'm seeing a lot of anti-Wayland posts recently. I get Wayland has flaws, but personally, it works better than X11 for me. (At least on KDE)
I use a Thinkpad T580 with Intel HD 620 graphics and X11 has issues with games, in which, if I change the resolution to something lower (in proton/wine, and native), I get black flickering bars all over the screen, making the games unplayable.
KDE Plasma Wayland doesn't have these issues for me. And it keeps getting more stable every release.
Anyone else with similar experiences of Wayland working better on their hardware?

Wayland should be called Waybetter 🤣 Wayland feels smoother and has some good advantages. Maybe I'm not using Reddit enough recently, but I don't see much of anti-wayland posts, and generally is a nvidia user, not wayland fault.

So I had the issue when 1.2.5 came out that locked the VRAM at 96MHz.
Only way to fix was setting the profile to Automatic (no OC or undervolt).
1.2.6 was announced to remove the memory overclock and fix that issue... However if I turn CoreCtrl back on, it still locks memory and my frame rates tank to 15-20fps.
Is there cache that I need to remove on 1.2.6 to fix this?

Look in ~/.config/corectrl for profiles folder. Rename this folder when corectrl is not running and then start to regenerate a default profile to see if the issue is fixed. Otherwise, use 1.2.5 to set all profiles with automatic for GPU control, save the profiles, quit corectrl, upgrade and see if the problem persists.

According to this CoreCtrl cannot do anything about that issue, which makes sense since it's just a front-layer for users to use the commands for the hardware/GPU. So you have to report the issue to the responsible of the drivers (with detailed information about what and how, or it be hard for them to understand the issue).
