Hi! I just mounted my new PC on a Corsair 3500x which comes with 3 RS120 ARGB side fans. No problem connecting these fans to the motherboard (B650 GAMING X AX V2) on the SYS_FAN 1 and D_LED 1 inputs.
I bought 4 more fans, three AR120 and one SP140, today I got the SP140 and I see that I can not connect it to the motherboard as the three RS120, the RS120 have 3 pins (ARGB, right?) and this is 4 pins.
Will I have the same problem with the AR120? It says that they are compatible with ARGB but I can't find what kind of connection they use.
I understand that to connect the SP140 I need the corsair hub, right? Does it need to be this one specifically or are there alternatives?

Hello! So I recently learned about the difference between ARBG and JRGB on the motherboards, and from what I have read online, is that the AR120 RGB Fans will only work on ARGB. My motherboard only has JRGB connectors.
I did buy a three pack, but there doesn't seem to be a controller in the box, so I was looking at the Commander Core XT, and before I buy one, I wanted to make sure it would work for my mobo, or if the three fan set I got was supposed to come with one?
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
looking to upgrade my fans and have come across these.
They tick all my boxes needed however, I'm unsure if they are compatible with my motherboard.
I currently have a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX in a Lian Li O11 case so i need 9 fans in total.
I guess i have 2 questions.. are these fans compatible with my motherboard and if so can i fit 9 of them on my motherboard
Hello!
I'm currently planning on using 10 Corsair AR120 fans (3x 3 packs, 1x Single pack) and i'm having some trouble understanding how to setup the fans.
I am using a MSI Tomahawk B650 board and i'm not sure where I would be connecting things or what kind of hubs i need.
How will i control fan speed, and how will i control the RGB?
Thanks in advance!
Corsair sells something called a commander core XT that can control the fan speed and RGB of six fans and a couple other things.
Also, a lot of corsairs AIOs come with a module that can do the exact same thing + control the aio.
So grab a couple of commander core XTs or an AIO and one
Every fan has two plugs that go into the hub and then they just show on the hub in icue and you can even tell them to change based on GPU temperatures.
These fans include a cable adapter to connect to your motherboard's RGB headers, most motherboards will have 2 ARGB headers, you can get a RGB splitter cable or get a 10 Port ARGB Hub, the same applies to the PWM side, these will plug to your motherboard's PWM headers and again you might need PWM splitter or a PWM hub.
Other option is getting 2 commander Core XT, each commander can control up to 6 PWM and RGB fans.
I have a ASUS rog strix b450-f gaming motherboard and I recently bought 3 corsairar120 rgb fans and I don't have a argb port on my motherboard, and the rgb docent work if I connect the rgb cable strait into my motherboard even thou the fans themselves are working.
dose anyone know what I can do?
When I first saw this product name, I thought it was a misspelling of the AF120 RGB Elite product.
But then I took a closer look and realized it's a new product.

One of the features that surprised me was that it came with an ARGB conversion cable.
Since Corsair doesn't bundle RGB controllers with their products for custom loops, they did provide this conversion cable. But, I don't think I've ever seen a FAN product come with a conversion cable before, but it's unusual for Corsair to release a product like this.
The single pack includes a 1:1 conversion cable and the triple pack includes a 1:3 splitter cable. It's amazing how well Corsair has thought of the accessories.
But why didn't they include a bundled cable with the QX FAN single pack? 🤣
