I have 9 fans in my case right now but they are not RGB. One of them is dying and I want to replace them all with RGB fans. My question is about controllers. In the past I know with Corsair you had to buy and hub and controller for all the RGB.
With these new fans that all directly connection together, the starter kit 3 fan set come with a little controller box. Will that box power and control 9 fans? If not, if I buy 3 kits, can you chain the included controllers together?
In summary, if I buy 3 starter kits to get 9 fans, does that include everything I need to make them all work in my case?
Thank you!
I’m looking to upgrade to Corsair Link fans (QX120) as the fans I have right now have zeros fan control (either high or low speed) and controlled via a crappy RGB remote. iCUE has come a long way and has been working well enough lately that I’m looking to spend invest the money into their system.
The issue is the investment. Amazon has the fans for $140 for 3 (X2) and then a single fan for $50. Then if I wanted to get RGB strips, it would be even more expensive. I’m looking to upgrade my AIO in the future as mine runs well now so it’ll get replaced when it reaches EOL.
The last thing I want is to spend the money into the system to find out their fans die easily or don’t work as advertised. Can anyone with Corsair link give me their user experience? I appreciate any input.
I am in a market for new 120mm fan and I am interested in getting QX120 fans. Are they worth the money? I have corsair case 4000x and 240mm AIO and trying to match it with Corsair fans if possible. If you have used QX120 fans share your experience! Thank you in advance.
Corsair QX120 fans are one of the most beatiful fans out there but a lot of people says that they are not good for radiators.
I can say the complete opposite.
This fans is so silent and even at low RPM they push a lot of air through rads. This is a video on the fan at 1000rpm with a tick 5.5mm rad from Corsair the XR7.

My fan flashes like this no matter what I do. I have changed connectors, reinstalled Icue, and moved fan locations.
I’m always going for iCUE LINK fans now. With up-to 12 devices per channel/24 devices per tiny ‘lil iCUE LINK Hub, it makes cable management a freaking breeze!
iCUE LINK QX and iCUE LINK LX/LX-R are definitely my favorites they both feature lighting loops, the more RGB the merrier!
The iCUE LINK QX are nice as they have temperature sensors that you can make fan curves based on those.
With iCUE LINK LX/LX-R, you can do a build without the cage facing inside the case, which is aesthetically appealing.
With that said, what is everyone else using? 👀 (bonus points if you have picture)
I'm a new builder looking for something I can build relatively easily. Screening the internet for different fan controllers and the like was a nightmare, and putting it all together looked even worse. I'm a stickler for cord management and aesthetics, so the iCUE link honestly looked like a dream come true. From what I've heard, corsair makes decent products, and I can budget for the extra cost of a Corsair AIO and fans. Is it worth it? Here is my current thinking for the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nFfhn6
I bought the iCUE LINK QX120 RGB Fans Starter Kit for my first build, when it comes to attaching the Fans to the case (5000D Airflow), the screw that came in the pack are either too fat or there's something else cause it takes a lot of force to screw/unscrew them.
Please advise.
Hey everyone,
Building a new PC and with the Black friday Corsair products had good deals so I grabbed
Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE LCD XT
iCUE LINK QX120 RGB 120mm PWM PC Fans Starter Kit with iCUE LINK System Hub
Yet I do have a question about the Commander Core XT and the iCUE LINK System Hub.
I am not sure what these pieces plays role, shouldn't Commander Core be enough to connect it all? Do I still need to connect fans to System hub? Will it have any benefit, then connect that to the Commander Core?
I am having hard time to understand what would be the best approach, any help is appreciated.
Rest of the components are, Asus ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI ATX AM5 mobo, NZXT H7 Flow and Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
Thanks in advance,
$159.99 for a three pack is insane ($49.99 for a single.) Considering LLs or QLs are $80-90 for three and $24 for a single. I have a 10 fan setup with LL fans and if I were to switch to QX fans. Im looking at $530 for a full swap. That's nearly double the price of my LL fans at $270 for 10. Now I know this sub is for corsair fans, which I am guilty of, but I cannot ignore the fact that the competition of Lian Li's Uni fans come in at $80-90 for 3 and $24 for one. I just don't see where corsairs asking price for QX fans for tech that is not new. Its nothing revolutionary to daisy chain electrical components together. For now I can only dream. But these have to come way down in price for me to even consider swapping.
Hi, recently I have been encountering an issue with my bottom QX120. It suddenly shuts off the RGB, then when I go into iCUE (which is just running in the background) and change RGB colors, it turns on again. This has been happening randomly for the past weeks now. Anybody else experiencing this? I’m at latest iCUE software and everything.
Howdy. I've been looking pretty closely at the whole LINK ecosystem, and I really like it and am giving some serious thought to making the jump.
Buuut I've been trying to figure some stuff out and I feel like I'm going insane from contradictory info, so I hope maybe one of ya'll kind people could help me get sorted 'cause it's really something I'd like to try.
1: Despite having the same pricetag, the iCUE LINK Hub available on Amazon says it handles 14 connections, 7 per side, while the one directly on the Corsair site says it does 24, 12 per side. There's not really anything to indicate they're differing products, they're both System Hub, Black. Can you only get the better one off the website, or did someone forget to update the Amazon posting, or...?
2: Amazon doesn't list package contents(sometimes it does, but...), so I can't cross check there. However, on the Corsair site, the cheaper LX120 RGB single pack and even the RX120 single pack both come with a cable(and quickturn screws), but the more expensive QX120 RGB single pack does not?? Is this an oversight, forgot to update the page, or do you just get no cables?
3: The H100i LCD 240mm LINK AIO counts as 3 devices, yes? The pump, and the two fans?
4: Is the LINK Hub that comes with the 240mm AIO or the QX120 starter 3 pack(I'm looking to buy off Amazon, if I can if there are differences between the site and Amazon's inventory) the 14 or 24 variant?
5: Are there any cables anyone would consider must have? In my 4000d Airflow I'm going to be replacing my front three fans with QX120s, put the 240mm in the roof, and then a single QX120 in the rear. From what I've looked at, I think I'd need a double 90° 135mm to go from front 3 to the AIO, then another of those to go from the AIO to the rear QX120, and then a straight/90° 200mm to go from that fan to the hub. Which totals 7 devices, if I did my math right? Or would differing cables work better and cleaner for that setup?
It's...it's all really nice but it's also really expensive, plus shipping takes a while so I'd love to have all my ducks in a row before I pull the trigger, hence, you know. This whole-ass essay. Any help is deeply appreciated, because like, I super wanna do it, it's just hard to until I'm sure of how this stuff works.
I have these at the back (like next to the mobo, not the read exhaust)
Corsair iCUE LINK QX120 RGB 120mm Magnetic Dome RGB Fans - Triple Fan Starter Kit with iCUE LINK System Hub - White
One of them has now started the ticking/loud noise. I isolated it with a 0rpm set in iCue.
Anyway, I also had 2x 140mm versions of the same fans on the floor of my PC and one of those did the same. Amazon swapped it, no issues, and I expect they will swap this as well.
But to have 2 go, seems odd? Any one else getting this of these "premium" fans?
looking to upgrade my custom loop setup with new fans and i have 2 questions about the icue link system hub.
first, I see that it has a 2 pin connector that acts as a tach wire to motherboards when used with the new AIO's which only uses 1 of the pins. does this also act as a place for temperature probes? or will i need another control box like the commander core xt as well? watched a video by jayztwocents where he says its a temp sensor port but never showed it working as this and non of the info i can find explains fully what this connector can do other than for tach.
second, i have seen a connector for connecting 3 pin rgb on some waterblocks, will this allow strips to be powered/controlled as well and if so is the led count know for this?
