I noticed that the other end of the included Corsair Link Digital Interface cable that came with my AX1500i, can connect to my H100i. Can I use it in this way or is it meant to be connected to something else like an actual Corsair Link module? More on forum.corsair.com

In the manual it's referred to as a "Digital Interface cable", but that's all it says. There are no instructions on where to plug it in. It was only the AXi, HXi and RMi lineups that had the USB port and iCUE (Link) integration. They're 'current' as in they're supposedly still for sale, in spite of what Corsair and retailer's sites might imply, but they annoyingly haven't been 'refreshed' or anything at all recently aside from the AX1600i so you'll be getting the old 2013-2015 designs (but probably a newer actual unit, I'd think?) if you grab one. However even though they seemingly haven't been announced as discontinued, between the pandemic & chip shortage & crypto situation causing a widespread shortage of high end PSUs and the i ones being older lineups, they seem in particularly short supply especially the 1000W+ models. It's sort of just a case of "good luck finding them in stock new literally anywhere". It remains to be seen if we'll actually get new designs with iCUE integration, and how soon if so. The PSU market moves slowly. Personally, if you've already got a HX850i you should still have a year plus left on the warranty depending on when it was purchased IIRC - if it's an option I'd be tempted to keep using that for now if it's sufficient to power your new system, and see if a new iCUE PSU comes out in the next 1-2 years if you really want that functionality.
