I love the QX120s. I haven't had a Corsair fan before, but I had other brands and I like both their sound profile and their performance. I don't need to spin them more than around 900 rpm (they go as low as 450) and I can hear their sound only above around 1100 rpm. Even if I try to run them full speed, I don't hear any whine, it's mostly the air whoosh. I'd say the only fans that were quieter were Noctua fans. As for the price, it will depend on the lifespan. If I get few years out of them without any sort of degradation, I'm happy. I was willing to pay a bit more for much less fan cables in the case. In comparison to my previous nzxt setup, it's night and day. I read a lot of hate on icue here, but I had so many problems with CAM that switching to icue was a big improvement and I haven't had any issues with v5 so far. Answer from Vybo on reddit.com

Just sharing my Link build.

The install was fairly easy, however I feel like Corsair really should solve this cable shortage quite quickly.

Once I receive the angled cables I’ll clean up the cabling a bit.

Also if they could they make the angled cable on both ends available for purchasing that would be great.

Overall I’m pretty happy with the results and I think Corsair did a good job.

r/Corsair on Reddit: Advice on Corsair Link? Is it worth the money? Are they quality fans?
January 8, 2024 -

I’m looking to upgrade to Corsair Link fans (QX120) as the fans I have right now have zeros fan control (either high or low speed) and controlled via a crappy RGB remote. iCUE has come a long way and has been working well enough lately that I’m looking to spend invest the money into their system.

The issue is the investment. Amazon has the fans for $140 for 3 (X2) and then a single fan for $50. Then if I wanted to get RGB strips, it would be even more expensive. I’m looking to upgrade my AIO in the future as mine runs well now so it’ll get replaced when it reaches EOL.

The last thing I want is to spend the money into the system to find out their fans die easily or don’t work as advertised. Can anyone with Corsair link give me their user experience? I appreciate any input.

Recently just sold most of my old system and used the money to upgrade. Cable management with the RM850x Shift and ICUE Link is so much easier. Last 2 images for reference on how bad it used to be.

Still waiting on the rest of my fans, but even with just the AIO, it looks stunning. Will definitely make an updated post when I finish the build.

Its so poorly designed i cant even get it to hard uninstall following the literal guide. ... r/Corsair on Reddit: How does the ICUE Link system work?
February 18, 2025 -

I'm thinking about buying a PC case, specifically the 3500x, where there are 3 versions. One is just the base case, the second is ARGB which includes 3 fans. The last option includes the "icue link" hub.

From the way I heard it, the icue link system is this proprietary connection system that links up all case fans, cpu fans/aio, and basically everything. The problem is, it's proprietary. So does this basically mean to take advantage of the icuelink hub, I'd have to buy corsair brand fans only? Corsair brand AIOs?

I guess the benefit is how easy it is to link up fans using the icue link connectors, but that basically means I'm stuck in the ecosystem, and I can't just buy a random 3/4 pin fan, and any AIO that isn't "icue link compatible" would just have to be plugged into the motherboard.

So are my assumptions correct? To take full advantage of the icue link hub/system I'd need to basically be locked into corsair products? Cause there's no way I'm paying 50 bucks for a single "icue link" fan.

And what advantages does icue link have over a non proprietary fan hubs besides simplicity of installation?

May 30, 2023 - I can appreciate the fans linking together to eliminate those specific cables, but you still need to manage the SATA power/Fan/USB header cables that plug into the Corsair link. Unfortunately they’re necessary for customization, but it’d be much less work choosing a similar fan with only one RGB cable and one fan cable - I.e.

December 14, 2018 -

Hi,

I just installed a H115i Pro for my i9-9900K. I haven't installed any Corsair management tool yet. Would you guys recommend Link or iCue if I only want to manage the fan speeds/noise ? (I don't mind the lighting, my PC is below my desk)

I'm reading contradicting information about iCue being very CPU consuming but also problems with Link, and I'd like to avoid the CPU spikes problems of course...

Cheers

r/Corsair on Reddit: iCue Link Early Adoption Update.
July 8, 2023 -

Finally got iCue Link QX Fans and AIO in mail. Also decided to move from o11 mini to H9 Flow. The experience was overall good. One disappointing thing was I ordered one QX starter kit and then three individual QX fans not realizing that there would be no link cables in the single kit. So now those three fans are still in the box not being used until those cables become available.

The cable that links the aio fans to the aio could of been shorter. As you can see it is visible wrapped around a hose. I did my best to hide this. I guess I could of flipped the aio but I like this look better. And the other way felt cramped. Also the lack of 90 degree connectors on the 3 pack of QX made it difficult to connect it in the side orientation they are in. It was TIGHT. So tight that I had the plastic part of a connector cable break off an I thought I was screwed but I was able to get it back on. This would of been a lot easier with a 90 degree cable and I think these should be standard in what comes with all fans.

I absolutely love the lack of wires on the aio and fans! Corsair has something great here and I’m excited to see what they do with it in the future.

I, until actually doing research on it recently assumed that Corsair link was a software package similar to MSI Afterburner. I had no idea that it had a whole module to put in your case. That being said, i can find almost no information on the product or what it does. Do any of you use it, or know what it does?

I'm a new builder looking for something I can build relatively easily. Screening the internet for different fan controllers and the like was a nightmare, and putting it all together looked even worse. I'm a stickler for cord management and aesthetics, so the iCUE link honestly looked like a dream come true. From what I've heard, corsair makes decent products, and I can budget for the extra cost of a Corsair AIO and fans. Is it worth it? Here is my current thinking for the build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nFfhn6

Hey all, so it's been a long time since I've needed to buy a power supply, which says only good things about the quality. The last two I bought had Corsair Link which is a handy way of checking everything's working as it should since it shows all the rail voltages etc.

Now I'm putting a new system together and the only one I can find is the AX1600i, and at AU$800 it's a little "excessive". Not that I can even find stock anyway. Did they just decide to do away with the whole lineup?

Hello,

I have a Hydro H80i for several years now. always used Corsair Link with good results... but I could not manage other (chassis) fans

Now I am getting a new cooler, a Hydro H115i PRO

And on top of that, I got me a Corsair Commander Pro aswell

I am about to install all of this, but it got me thinking: which software would I be using? I have no experience with iCUE, never used it
I'm the kind of guy that likes to have the "the least stuff installed, the better" so if I can use only ONE of the two softwares, the better.

October 14, 2024 -

I have a Corsair H100i lcd cooler. With a commander core xt powering 6 QL120 fans. As of currently I can no longer control my fan curves through Icue. None of the presets are working. No matter what I do I can’t get it to work. So I want to do away with the cores and go link. I was wanting to replace my aio first.

My question is would it be okay to go with an icue link aio and would it pair okay with a commander Xt until I can merge to an all link setup?

Thank you

For quite some time now I’ve been having problems updating windows. The update will usually progress to over 50% before it gives me a BSOD with the code: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. It also lists the cause of the BSOD as cpuz141_x64.sys. From what I’ve read this is caused by Corsair link being outdated. I’ve also read that Corsair link is no longer supported, so I’m not sure where to get the most recent version of it or if I even need link at all. The version I’m on is 4.4.3.15.

seriously i love many of your products but I would have to install bonzi buddy to have something usurp Corsair Links's title of most broken piece of shit on my computer.

Please, please, please open source this so i can fucking patch the bugs i need patched that have kept it from running correctly since like v 2.5.

Also stop telling people in the forums that they need to do a clean install of windows. That's not an acceptable solution for a company that sells fucking computer hardware. your shit is broken, that's not a reasonable thing to ask of the consumer, since literally no one else ships production code that occasionally requires people to do clean installs (i have, many times, still crashes) to mayyyyybe work. Your shit sucks if visual studio tries to open every time i stupidly attempt to launch your program because you dont even bother to handle your fucking exceptions. You should be embarrassed.
