The CX-F series is good. Like most PSU brands corsair has anything from low to high end PSU models, and even the best ones always have a certain failure rate. Anecdotal customer reviews don't mean much as long as there aren't excessively many, look at professional psu reviews instead. This tier list here is also a good guise line for psu quality https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/ Answer from t4J4t on reddit.com

Power supplies also impact the noise of your PC. A PSU operating close to its maximum rated output will need to ramp up the fan to stay cool. If system noise is important to you, choose from our AX, HX or RM series for a “Zero RPM Mode” fan. Further reduce noise with higher efficiency ratings and extra headroom. ... Guarantee dependable power. ... Every CORSAIR power supply meets our rigorous standards for the quality of critical components such as transistors and transformers, higher wire gauge cables with built-in capacitors, and more.

AFAIK, the only Corsair PSU that regularly has quality issues is the RMe. I’ve had an HXi and an RMx and both are fantastic. HXi is going on 6 years, multiple rigs, not a single issue. More on reddit.com

At the highest level: CX-M: Semi-modular cables. You'll have the ATX/Motherboard and 1 EPS/CPU connected. Others are modular. Bronze efficiency. Value line - good performance with lower cost. Up to 750W RM-X: Fully modular cables Exceeds Gold efficiency, even hits Platinum at some loads Enthusiast line - better performance, slightly higher cost. RM line also has Shift (side connectors for power) and E series (smaller) Up to 1000W The higher efficiency in the RM series means less heat and less fan noise. Higher end RM series PSUs also have more 12V PCIe/ATX connectors available for beefier GPUs. This can also be important if you are considering the Link ecosystem, as it is powered by the PCI power connections and especially if your GPU requires 2 PCIe connections - the RMx-850 has 1 additional PCIe/EPS connection and the 1000 has 2 additional PCIe/EPS connections. I, personally, like the fully modular as it allows you to use premium, individually sleeved cables for a better look (if that's your thing). The RM series also comes with the 12V HPWR cable and I don't think that the CX-M does (though they are Type 4 so you can use the same ones for RM) That's not to say that there's anything wrong with the CX-M series. They are good, quality PSUs. Personally, I'd only consider them for a lower-powered system - I'm using one, for example, in a system with a low-powered GPU (GTX 1050). But for most builds, I prefer at least RM series PSUs. The cost difference between the two (at 750W, the only place they overlap) is minimal for overall higher quality. And the modular cables for RMx, RMe and CX-M are compatible (Type 4/Type 3) while the RMx Shift is Type 5 and not compatible. r/buildapc on Reddit: Corsair PSU's - good or bad?
March 11, 2022 -

I bought some new PC parts just to "refresh" my PC a bit since I haven't done it in a quite some time now and one of them is a Corsair CX 550F RGB PSU. I got it recommended to me by a friend and I went and bought it without doing much research.

For some odd reason, YouTube recommended me couple of Corsair PSUs exploding. Went to the comments and I see decent amount of people had the same issue with their Corsair psu's. Googled it and it appears that it's somewhat true? Are they really unreliable when it comes to PSU's?

Currently I got no time to install all this and see it myself, but I was just curious. I'm kinda scared to even test it lol :D
