How many watts does a PSU need, and how do I know that the PSU is the right size?
Why do you need to calculate the wattage of a PSU (Power Supply Unit)? And how can you use the Newegg power supply calculator to determine the right wattage for you?
What is the Newegg PC power supply calculator?
I've only been using Newegg since they have updated cpu list. I'm trying to see if I can pair an R9 7900 (non-x) with an RTX 4070 ti with my current Corsair RM650. According to Newegg, watts suggested goes from 600-699. So how accurate is that? At what point would it use up to 699
Additional question: at what point/ activity would a GPU use a large amount of power? I assume when using an editing software?? I do plan on editing
I just purchased a 9800x3D (was fortunate to find one at my local Micro Center) and I intend to upgrade to a 5070ti (or another 16 GB GPU) in the near future. Iโm currently using an RTX 2080 so Iโm assuming my Corsair RM750x will be just fine for the time being (I still have to purchase a MOBO and RAM for my new CPU).
Should I upgrade to an 850W PSU when I purchase a 16 GB GPU? The Corsair calculator recommends 850W while others (ASUS, PC Partpicker, and Outervision) recommend 750 W.
I donโt overclock.
I'm debating upgrading my GPU and seeing wildly varying results on if I need a new PSU or not.

Debating between a 5070 and 5070Ti and some calculators (pcpartpicker) say it's no problem and others (Corsair) say I need a 750w PSU.
