The main selling point for these fans is the cable management. You daisy-chain 2 or 3 fans (not the limit) and have only one cable to connect to the hub which is different from the one the LX or RX would use. So you have to take that into consideration. If you get the starter kit, you'll get 3 of them + the hub in the box. However, if you don't mind dealing with 2 cable per fan (Assuming you're going with RGB) and all the cable management that comes with it. I don't think the price is justified for the QX. I have them since they came with the AIO I got and added a Starter Pack to match the aesthetic, and budget was not an issue for me when I was building my PC.

I can not comment on QX but what I can say is that QLs are quiet because they hardly push air. They are more of an rgb strip that comes with a fan. Look, every fan that does it's job right is going to cause some noise. If you want the absolutele quietest fans possible you should look up Noctua and maybe BeQuiet. Also note that decibels describe how loud a fan is, not how annoying or distracting it practically is. Like different musical instruments, different fans sound different at the same db level. August 4, 2023Is there any major difference between Rx and QX fans? I read that some people say that the QX is for side-mounted fans and the RX is for standard front-facing fans. Not sure how true that is, but is there a difference between the two?
Really depends on what you want. They both will be a breeze to install (pun intended haha), as they are LINK fans. Both fans have their similarities and differences. QX fans are the more expensive option, but look better in my opinion. They have more LEDs at a total count of 34. Double ringed design where you’ll have RGB rings on both sides of the fan. They however don’t perform as well as RX fans, but don’t perform bad, just not as well. I’d recommend them if you want all that RGB goodness! RX fans are a cheaper option. They have less LEDs, but perform better (especially if you want to install them on a radiator). They also have customizable side plates that you can even 3D print yourself.
