So 2 months ago I bought the Corsair Crystal 570X case. A few days ago I decided to add an exhaust fan since my GPU temps were pretty high. I bought a Corsair SP120 RGB Elite fan thinking it was the same as the SP 120s that came with the case. Well now I realize that I was wrong and that the 570X uses the old SP 120 RGB fans. The Elite has different LEDs and is not compatible with the integrated Corsair RGB controller. So my question is, what the hell am I supposed to do? I can't find the old SP120 RGB anywhere. Is replacing the stock fans literally the only option here?
Hi everyone,
I have two Corsair SP120 RGB pro's installed into my case, with both being connected to a respective fan hub on my MOBO (MSI B450 gaming plus max) - but obviously with no RGB / LED lit up on each fan.
Do I need to buy a Corsair branded RGB controller to power the LED's on these fans or can I just use a generic controller? I see the corsair PRO controller is upwards of $100 AUD - but then also see products like the Corsair RGB Fan LED Hub for $10US.
Little bit confused as to what I actually need, to just power the lights within the fans (which run fine) and control the color output.
Thanks in advance.
Hello. I bought a single Corsair SP120 RGB ELITE fan. I have a MSI B660m a-pro. Can I plug the fan RGB cable directly into my motherboard and control the fan colors? Without any need for the control hub thing. Will this be safe?
About a month ago I bought these fans and installed them but I remember reading on the box or in the manual somewhere that it can be controlled through the icue software. I already have the software as I have other Corsair products but I can’t seem to connect the fans to them. When I put them in I did it pretty fast as I was in a rush so was wondering if maybe I missed something.
so i bought 3 sp120 fans 3 months ago without getting the controller though.now that i finally got the controller i tried plugging it in.but guess what?it won't work, it wont even be recognized by corsair link software.PLEASE HELP
Hey everyone! I have a Corsair Elite 240 AIO with a total of 4 SP120 RGB fans, all controlled via the Corsair controller. Three of the fans were purchased about 2 years ago, 2 came with the AIO and 1 i bought few month later; and I recently added a new one — same model (SP120) — to complete the setup and balance airflow.
The issue is that the new fan displays colors slightly differently than the other three. For example, when I set everything to white, the new one looks “clean” while the others have a warmer or slightly yellow-ish tint.
I’ve read that this could be due to wear and discoloration over time, and that fans showing this kind of aging can sometimes be replaced under warranty.
So I’m wondering:
Is this color mismatch common with aging RGB fans?
Can I replace only the AIO fans with new ones without sending back the whole radiator?
Has anyone here successfully claimed warranty for something like discoloration or uneven RGB?
Thanks in advance for your help!
