Been using my reliable Sony XM3s, which are light and sit incredibly comfortably on my ears. I can wear them all day without any real discomfort. Just bought the Virtuoso XT because of the mic, sound is reasonable (not close to Sony sadly) and I wanted both wireless and BT. Problem is the earcups are not comfortable. They're shallow and inside, it's a hard wall, which rubs against my ear, whereas the Sony have a softer foam layer and they cradle my ears. Anyone have ideas / knows of aftermarket earcups that might add more padding? I didn't think my ears stuck out that much, but I guess...
i've got the same , i buy this earcups : https://www.amazon.com/Earpads-Compatible-Virtuoso-Wireless-Headset/dp/B08HYL7RB1/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Earpads+Compatible+with+Virtuoso+RGB+Wireless+SE+Gaming+Headset&qid=1626517605&sr=8-1 ,he dont rubs anymore against my ear
edit: dont worry it work with the xt
I’ve had the original Virtuoso, now I have the XT. I’ve never had an issue with degradation. The top of my head hurt with the original, not as much with the XT

Hey Folks, I recently acquired a set of virtuoso XTs, and have a couple questions for the community here. These questions are directed to individuals who have actually purchased and used these headsets for an extended period of time.
I am currently trying to decide between the virtuosos and razor Kraken V3 pros. They both have pros and cons. Battery life is not really my concern as the virtuosos have plenty of battery life for my needs. I have found the Kraken to have higher fidelity sound and comfort but they are a bit buggy.
Long term wise, how have your XTs held up?
Thank you for the discussion.
I've had the original Virtuoso but found them to be very uncomfortable and had to return them. Have they improved the XT in any way to make them more comfortable around the ears or are they just exactly the same?
Hey guys,
I want to buy a new wireless gaming headset, I have seen the Virtuoso XT for 200€ should I get it ?
I have looked at the specs (24 bits/96 kHz audio, Dolby Atmos, nice mic) it seems to be a good headset. But some of the reviews on reddit says that it doesn't sound good so I don't know if I should take it.
Do you guys have another headset to advice ? My budget is around 200 ~ 250€ ? I'm looking for a wireless headset for gaming, listening music and watch movies. I play on PC and sometimes on PS4 and PS5 and Nintendo Switch if it has Bluetooth it would be great but if not it is ok
I have owned the "Corsair VIRTUOSO RGB Wireless SE Espresso" headset for a little under two years and I really like the audio quality and mic.
Battery life has always been pretty terrible for me, like it wont charge fully always. Also after two years the faux leather has totally disentegrated because of an unusually hot and sweaty summer, but apart from that its the best headset I have tried.
I am wondering if the XT holds up better over the years? Are they made of the same material as the SE Expresso version?
Can long time owners pitch in with their experience?
These have to be the WORST headphones I have ever seen released. “Premium” my butt. Literally any headphone is better than these I’m so angry rn just venting on Reddit
Hello everyone,
I hope that Virtuoso users will help me to pick my final choice. I'm thinking of Virtuoso non-SE (base version) vs Virtuoso XT. I have been reviewing hundreds of headsets and I think Virtuoso fits my needs the best:
-
Wireless
-
Good quality mic - I have a lot of meetings daily
-
Indicator whether my mic is on/off
-
A headset that is also suitable for gaming
Now I'm thinking about whether should I pick non-SE - better mic quality, cheaper. On the other hand, XT has Bluetooth. Usually, I work from my home but from time to time also from the office so I would not have to take the USB receiver with me. What is the sound/mic quality over Bluetooth? Also, non-SE version is so uncomfortable as SE is? One more thing is Dolby Atmos - worth paying some more bucks?
Have the xt myself, mic is about as good on Bluetooth as on wireless. All 3 of the headsets have the same design so as for them being comfortable is all up to the user, personally I can use mine about 6-7 hours before my ears start to hurt. And last but not least, NO Dolby Atmos is not worth it unless your an audiophile, but the xts are well worth the price for Bluetooth.
They added more padding on xt version I think to improve comfort.
No good way to turn the headset off sadly. I have mine set to sleep after 10mins but it never does and my LED for mic stays active.
I end up just removing the mic complexity to get rid of the dam glow at night.
Tbh I got the xt for Bluetooth and improved comfort.
Don't think I'll ever use Bluetooth. But it's nice to have for the just in case. As I wanted to have the option as you never know in the future. And I didn't want to have to buy a new headset if I needed Bluetooth.
Major downside of Virtruoso headset is that the default settings are horrendous. You can change them with Icue or through Atmos, but that requires you to have icue or atmos running as you can not save the settings to the headset.
So if you close icue are use on a device without icue you are stuck using the default eq settings.
Hello,
In the last recent days, I have been looking for a new pair of headset, that will be for gaming.
I have saw some videos here and there and found the corsair virtuoso xt. I tried to do a research about them and they look very great, at least on the paper.
So i want to ask what do you think about the virtuoso xt? are they as great as they showed and worth getting?
do you have any other suggestion for a better wireless headset?
Also, I saw that the virtuoso can be connected using the slipstream usb and also that the slipstream can handle 3 devices at the same time.
Is it possible to connect both the virtuoso xt and another corsair mouse (specific IRONCLAW wireless), using the slipstream coming with the virtuoso xt?
maybe it will be good to say that i have another corsair products like k95 and ironclaw wireless mouse.
Can’t answer all your questions but I have them and like them.
They were my first choice because they offered a wide range of compatibility with consoles, PC, and other devices. Also uses USB-C for easy charging and connections. I like the professional non-gamer look. I like how I can detach the mic if I don’t plan on voice chat.
No complaints and glad I have them. Used them quite a bit with both my PC and PS5. If I had to nitpick is that they stay on when plugged in for charging but not a huge deal.
I have the virtuoso SE and I really like them. The stock ear pads were super uncomfortable so I bought some replacements from wicked cushions and they're amazing now.
I've been looking to upgrade to a newer wireless headset for sometime now, and I've been eyeing the VXT, but it's really pricey, I currently have something called the Mpow Air SE, and I find it pretty good, but I know it's on the lower end of headsets, how does it stack up against the VXT/What benefits will I get?
Range is horrible. Maybe get 12ft away through an open door with direct line of sight of computer. Think they advertise 60ft and they don't get close to it.
Default eq setting is horrible and to change the eq settings need to run icue. Settings don't save to headset so reverts back to default if you close kcue or run on a device without icue
Tbh, it's not worth imo. One corsair product I wish I didn't buy and could get full refund for.
Won't be getting another headset from Corsair again without major improvements.
This is my experience.
I did RMA my orginial headset due to bad range and being told my mic kept cutting out.
The new xt head set they sent can now go 14ft away instead of 12ft so little improvement. And haven't been told of my mic cutting out.
Edit
I don't walk away from computer often. But still be nice to be able to have it function in direct open line of sight when I'm only 20ft away. Especially when they advertise a much greater range.
The other complaint is they don't have the ability to save settings on the headset. I mean wtf, these things are expensive. You'd expect they'd have that

I've been looking for a new headset and really love the looks of the virtuoso, but can't figure out if the XT is worth the money over the SE. I don't think I'll use the bluetooth that much as I already have a pair of galaxy buds which I think are more convenient for mobile. Which one would you recommend?
I'd just get the SE if the Bluetooth isn't a selling point for your use case. The drivers and everything that matters are identical.
If you want bassy sound dont get virtuoso.... What I do like is they are compfy for all day use. If you dont need bluetooth you can save some cash and get se... But id go for Sony WH-1000XM4 for best wireless sound
I’m not that picky. not much of a gamer too, but I really liked the design and look of this headphones. Should I buy it? Is it rlly worth it? I will just use it for online classes and some gaming. I also found bunch of reviews on it in Youtube being as ‘near perfect headphones’
Hi everyone, I'm considering getting the Corsair Virtuoso MAX Wireless headset. I’ve seen some past reviews mentioning mic quality issues or software bugs and have those been fixed in recent updates?
Is it still worth buying now in 2025, or are there better alternatives in the same price range? Would love to hear from current users about your experience (especially with mic, comfort, battery life, and iCUE).
Thanks in advance!
I've never owned a gaming headset before but I'm pretty deep in the Corsair ecosystem so I picked up the XTs last week. Lo and behold the HS80s launched right after I ordered the XTs so I ordered those, too, and will return one of these in a couple weeks.
The stuff you've already heard:
-
Yes the comfort difference between the two is huge. The XTs didn't give me too much trouble initially but after a few days my head started rejecting them. I could feel my ears pressing against the cup and it didnt feel too great. The HS80 on the other hand felt amazing from the moment I put it on and the cloth cups make a big difference.
-
Mic is great on both. Build quality is great on both but XTs are nicer obviously.
Stuff you might not have heard:
-
There's actually a pretty big sound quality difference between the two. Specifically talking about music, the XTs are more clear and detailed to me. I find myself enjoying the experience and noticing things in songs much more with the XTs. HS80 on the other hand feels...boring. Not bad at all, but doesn't have the same energy I get from the XTs.
-
Dolby Atmos is kind of overrated. I was really excited about this feature and it can sound good at times, but what I don't enjoy is having to go into yet another app to fiddle around with EQ and find what sounds best. I want a set it and forget it feature and Dolby Atmos doesn't really provide this. I may stick to stereo long term.
-
The volume wheel and mic arm feel somewhat flimsy on the HS80. I worry longterm about reliability on these parts.
-
Wireless range is about the same on both meaning...not amazing. I probably average about 1-2 dropouts per hour with the dongle being line of sight to my headphones 2 feet away. I can live with this but it's not amazing.
-
Neither have media controls for PC which I kind of miss.
That's all the comes to mind right now. I'll post an update after I spend more time with them.
I am looking to buy for a new wireless gaming headset. My main concern for the headset is for it to be fairly comfortable for long periods of use and to have a good mic. The first headset I stumped upon after doing some research were the Blackshark V2 Pro 2023 edition. Everything seemed perfect so I pulled the trigger. Got them. Connected them….and it started. White noise. I had seen reviews on them and some talked about it but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. So yeah I am once more in the search for a new headset. My question is about the weight of the Corsair virtuosos XT. They seem to have an incredible mic and decent sound quality. I saw many reviews about the ear ups being a bit uncomfortable so I will probably buy new probably something like wicked cushions. In reviews I saw people saying that they are too heavy making them uncomfortable for long periods of use. Their weight is about 383 grams. The thing is, most of these premium headsets have weight that are just a little bit lighter. Arctic Nova pro wireless - 340 grams. Blackshark V2 Pro - 320 grams. I am just wondering if the virtuosos will be too heavy for long use.
So I'm deciding between the headphones in the title and the Razer Blackshark v2 pro. I was leaning more toward the black shark v2 pro, but on a headphone advice sub people said that razer headphones are overpriced and aren't that good, but there are great youtube reviews on it, so I'm kinda confused now. BUT ANYWAY, the razer ones don't have Bluetooth and the corsair virtuoso does so I'm more leaning toward that. But are they good(I'm getting the XT because the SE doesn't have Bluetooth btw)? I think so but I'm not exactly sure can somebody confirm?
