Hey Folks, I recently acquired a set of virtuoso XTs, and have a couple questions for the community here. These questions are directed to individuals who have actually purchased and used these headsets for an extended period of time.
I am currently trying to decide between the virtuosos and razor Kraken V3 pros. They both have pros and cons. Battery life is not really my concern as the virtuosos have plenty of battery life for my needs. I have found the Kraken to have higher fidelity sound and comfort but they are a bit buggy.
Long term wise, how have your XTs held up?
Thank you for the discussion.
I have owned the "Corsair VIRTUOSO RGB Wireless SE Espresso" headset for a little under two years and I really like the audio quality and mic.
Battery life has always been pretty terrible for me, like it wont charge fully always. Also after two years the faux leather has totally disentegrated because of an unusually hot and sweaty summer, but apart from that its the best headset I have tried.
I am wondering if the XT holds up better over the years? Are they made of the same material as the SE Expresso version?
Can long time owners pitch in with their experience?

These have to be the WORST headphones I have ever seen released. “Premium” my butt. Literally any headphone is better than these I’m so angry rn just venting on Reddit
So I'm deciding between the headphones in the title and the Razer Blackshark v2 pro. I was leaning more toward the black shark v2 pro, but on a headphone advice sub people said that razer headphones are overpriced and aren't that good, but there are great youtube reviews on it, so I'm kinda confused now. BUT ANYWAY, the razer ones don't have Bluetooth and the corsair virtuoso does so I'm more leaning toward that. But are they good(I'm getting the XT because the SE doesn't have Bluetooth btw)? I think so but I'm not exactly sure can somebody confirm?
Hey there! I have a pair of RIG800 headphones that keep dropping connection. My friend has Virtuoso XTs and loves them so I figured I would make the jump. The Max just got released and I love the silver colour but with an Amazon sale I can get the Black XTs for literally less than half the price (449.99 for Max and $198.99 for XTs) are the new ones worth paying retail?
Is the newer one that much better?
Needed to vent.
I had a pair of the pearl colored standard virtuosos for a long time, absolutely adored them, microphone quality and audio quality were fantastic and when they started having issues due to age and wear/tear a little while back, I was genuinely upset bc I didn't want to replace them since they'd worked so well and it was hard to find good white headsets that didn't get dingy and gross immediately, which the virtuoso had handled really well over long term heavy use.
I bite the bullet, spring for the Virtuoso XTs, the slate ones, since I figure it'll be same or better performance given they're the same product line but the XT is a newer, higher grade version. Turns out that's incredibly wrong.
Audio quality is much lower quality, has a faint echo and volumes are inconsistent across multiple apps (some games are just inexplicably quieter despite volume mixer and ingame audio not reflecting that, while other apps like discord are ear-shatteringly loud unless my system volume is set way lower than the other pair had it at)
Microphone is complete crap and sounds like I'm talking through my fist. I literally pulled the old mic of my old pair and had to use it because i'm so used to it that the drop in quality with the new pair was jarring
All of the settings I got used to being able to tweak in iCue are now gutted and have to go through the dolby atmos app which is unclear to use and doesn't seem to have a noticeable benefit compared to just letting me adjust things myself in iCue.
I'm just incredibly irritated and disappointed because I like the Corsair brand; most of my entire setup is corsair, and it's largely because I never had any quality issues and enjoyed having everything run through the single iCue app instead of having multiple management apps for different brands, but it looks like I'm going to have to change that because the XTs are $60 more than the standard and have nothing but a drop in performance. I don't want to even get a new set of the standards because I've got no way to know if their quality has dropped proportionally as well, or if they'd be like the older pair I had. It's just such a goddamn shame.
Hi.
Bought the corsair XT Fidelity wireless headphones for my pc, but not superhappy with the sound! How important is the 2.4ghz really? I play mostly dota and some overwatch atm and would really like to buy normal headphones with really good sound and use a mic, but afraid the sound will lag alot like people mention :(
Wanna replace them with Sennheiser momentum 4 or something in that category
Thanks in advance
Yea the Virtuoso is garbage sadly. Tuned are trash, very unbalanced. Huge bass roll off and huge treble roll off. No detail, no punch or slam. Just remember recessed isn't neutral, it's below neutral. The Hs80 is a step up in terms of design I hope corsair improves there headsets. But the Virtuoso is kind of a joke.
Staging and imaging is also bad. It's horrible.
It's nice it has aptX and aptx-hd but there meaningless when the headset sounds so bad. Even after eq it sounds worse than a have decent headset on SBC. Codec only can do so much. The headset has to be good to matter.
Range on it also sucks at well below average. Latency is also nothing special. With bt latency being bad. Also poor battery life.
Mic is good for a wireless headset.
Overall the Virtuoso is a horrible product with nothing going for it other than a good mic.

Why don't you like it? Not enough bass?
Is there multiple types of Corsair Virtuoso XT’s? Why are some of the XT’s $180 on Amazon but some are $260 on Bestbuy? Do some not have high fidelity or something? Just trying to figure out which one to buy? They seem the exact same, no? I am looking for the top high end headphone to buy but is there a difference or is it only one XT?
There is no difference. Amazon is retail monster, and they can sell things at 33% off just because. Just check the box when it arrives to make sure you got the XT version.
At 180, the headset is a really good deal. Happy Savings!
There is only one XT. If you see it at a lower price, I would make sure that it is a sale and not being sold by 3rd party, used or refurbished, so you get the full warranty with it.
Hello all!
Bit of a back story, I'm currently using an HS70 Pro Wireless and it's my second one, I swore up and down I would never buy another headset because I love the HS70, however with the Micro-USB charger and poor battery life I'm thinking it's time I move on.
I'm wanting to stick with the Corsair line up because of how well the HS70 has treated me, therefore I'm looking towards the Virtuoso line however I'm struggling a bit
What's the Major differences between the XT and the wireless? I've seen some articles say there's a sound difference and others say there isn't? Which one should I pick that'll treat me good for several years like my HS70 did?
Hello,
In the last recent days, I have been looking for a new pair of headset, that will be for gaming.
I have saw some videos here and there and found the corsair virtuoso xt. I tried to do a research about them and they look very great, at least on the paper.
So i want to ask what do you think about the virtuoso xt? are they as great as they showed and worth getting?
do you have any other suggestion for a better wireless headset?
Also, I saw that the virtuoso can be connected using the slipstream usb and also that the slipstream can handle 3 devices at the same time.
Is it possible to connect both the virtuoso xt and another corsair mouse (specific IRONCLAW wireless), using the slipstream coming with the virtuoso xt?
maybe it will be good to say that i have another corsair products like k95 and ironclaw wireless mouse.
Can’t answer all your questions but I have them and like them.
They were my first choice because they offered a wide range of compatibility with consoles, PC, and other devices. Also uses USB-C for easy charging and connections. I like the professional non-gamer look. I like how I can detach the mic if I don’t plan on voice chat.
No complaints and glad I have them. Used them quite a bit with both my PC and PS5. If I had to nitpick is that they stay on when plugged in for charging but not a huge deal.
I have the virtuoso SE and I really like them. The stock ear pads were super uncomfortable so I bought some replacements from wicked cushions and they're amazing now.
I've been looking to upgrade to a newer wireless headset for sometime now, and I've been eyeing the VXT, but it's really pricey, I currently have something called the Mpow Air SE, and I find it pretty good, but I know it's on the lower end of headsets, how does it stack up against the VXT/What benefits will I get?
Range is horrible. Maybe get 12ft away through an open door with direct line of sight of computer. Think they advertise 60ft and they don't get close to it.
Default eq setting is horrible and to change the eq settings need to run icue. Settings don't save to headset so reverts back to default if you close kcue or run on a device without icue
Tbh, it's not worth imo. One corsair product I wish I didn't buy and could get full refund for.
Won't be getting another headset from Corsair again without major improvements.
This is my experience.
I did RMA my orginial headset due to bad range and being told my mic kept cutting out.
The new xt head set they sent can now go 14ft away instead of 12ft so little improvement. And haven't been told of my mic cutting out.
Edit
I don't walk away from computer often. But still be nice to be able to have it function in direct open line of sight when I'm only 20ft away. Especially when they advertise a much greater range.
The other complaint is they don't have the ability to save settings on the headset. I mean wtf, these things are expensive. You'd expect they'd have that

i bough one of those for 265 , got it for like 6 months now
however the top part' leather has started wearing off by now , for the price this is unacceptable.
now corsair support has asked me to go through an entire process of rma-ing which is also unacceptable. im sorry but for the price i paid you should replace it for free.
The RMA process is standard across every company. The exception being brick and motor stores that have generious return policies. The RMA is to insure they are helping people who purchased the product and they can't just trust the person's word that they bought one.
Though, I will agree that it shouldn't fall apart like this. Most leather on items is artificial, my old bose headsets ($300+) also had this issue. Do you wear any hair products that might have caused premature wear?
Yeah I also bought the virtuoso and the pleather just disintegrated and the earcups fell off. Totally garbage build considering it was 200+ dollars. I switched back to Steelseries after that and haven't had any issues.
Hey guys,
I want to buy a new wireless gaming headset, I have seen the Virtuoso XT for 200€ should I get it ?
I have looked at the specs (24 bits/96 kHz audio, Dolby Atmos, nice mic) it seems to be a good headset. But some of the reviews on reddit says that it doesn't sound good so I don't know if I should take it.
Do you guys have another headset to advice ? My budget is around 200 ~ 250€ ? I'm looking for a wireless headset for gaming, listening music and watch movies. I play on PC and sometimes on PS4 and PS5 and Nintendo Switch if it has Bluetooth it would be great but if not it is ok
