I want to convert the shady part of my weed lawn into a corsican mint lawn. Has anyone done this successfully? I'm in zone 8b

Hey, since Corsican mint is invasive in 8b, make sure it isn’t a prohibited seed. You could visit the website for your state’s agricultural extension - they will have a list of good ground cover options for your area including native plants. Here is the one for Georgia. .

All y'all here are so lucky my Corsican mint just has dying patches all the time. I have some bad luck with it.

It bears very tiny pale purple flowers in summer, somewhat similar in appearance to creeping thyme. Not sure where you are from, but mint is aggressive to invasive. That might be nice as a ground covering for you, but it would wreak havoc on the biodiversity surrounding your property. More on reddit.com

Just curious if a mint lawn could be a thing. It's a hardy and prolific plant and would smell fantastic when walked on. Is there a mint that doesn't grow tall and woody with age or is this a terrible idea?

Look into thyme. Low growing herbs can be great. Mint is pretty stemmy and the stems get big and tough.
