Gameranx released a “10 Biggest Announcements of Summer Game Fest 2024” on YouTube (link at the bottom) and slotted New World coming to consoles as #2. That came as a shock for me. I’ll be honest, I was (and still am) along with most of the NW community pretty frustrated about the way the June announcement was handled. It was so confusing being marketed as a solo play/co-op ARPG. The PC players should have been kept in the loop. We should have received some sort of dev video directed towards the existing players. And even though we are getting some content, it doesn’t feel like much. And we have to wait another 4 months for it. Here’s what we’re getting:
-
Console Release (with Cross-play)
-
Cutlass Keys FFA PvP Zone
-
Full 10 Man Raid (with multiple bosses)
-
End-Game Soul Trials (solo bosses)
-
Swimming (yayyyy….)
-
Bear Mount
Acording to Gameranx, this was pretty big news for console players, enough to make it #2 out of 10 on the list. And he estimates that millions of console players will purchase the game. With a $60 pre-order price tag, it’s hard for me to believe that’s the case. Are PC players just feeling like the game is doomed because we got the short end of the stick? Or because we felt slighted? Are we simply overreacting? Will console players actually buy the game even though the dev videos and steam reviews got completely ratioed? This video is close to 100k viewers just within 5 hours. Idk. What do you guys think?

Well, those who told you about the 6-hour trial for PlayStation Plus and we were planning to buy the game, it will be released on Plus Officially no longer being a trial version
$40 for the base game and $30 for the expansion. If I were a new player, I don’t know if I’d pay that much to start a game with such a shaky history. Thoughts?
