Hi! I have bought both Airpods 4 anc and Airpods Pro 2. The idea is to keep one pair. I first tested Airpods 4 and was very pleasantly surprised. The sound is superb and the anc is far beyond my expectations. Then opened my AirPods Pro 2. Was instead very disappointed. The sound is for me not nearly as pleasant. Anc was pretty much the same. If Airpods Pro 2 is 100% then Airpods 4 is 80% anc. Bass was much more clear and controlled at lower volumes on the airpods 4. I like to listen at 50-60% and turn it up a bit every now and then if a good song comes on. I also experience female vocals much better and present on the AirPods 4. The AirPods Pro 2 has much sharper and harsh tones in the high register and is therefore not as satisfying at higher volumes for me. The mid tones and base ware underwhelming on 2´s. Adaptive EQ seems to work better on AirPods 4. Also I often use spatial audio in Stereo mode and the separation is experienced extremely well. I like AirPods Pro 2 without special audio because of the sharp tones. Tested all sizes of ear tips and get a "good seal" according to apple on all of them. They also feel like they fit properly especially with XS. AirPods 4 fit me like a glove. Won't fall out and feel real snug. It feels like I missed something? I was hoping to like the Airpods Pro 2 because of it's better battery life and other features. I understand that everyone has different ears and that good sound is subjective. But the AirPods Pro 2 really disappointed me in comparison. I think AirPods Pro 2 sounds more like AirPods Pro 1 as I remember them. While AirPods 4 sound closer to AirPods Max in signature.

I’m actually confused on how the latest brand of AirPods are actually cheaper than an older model. Does that mean that the Pro 2 is actually better hence the higher price?
I’ve used the AirPods Pro 2 before but lost one so just looking to buy a whole new set. My fear with the AirPods 4 is that they won’t fit in my ears because they don’t have the silicone tips on them. Which version is better?
I’m considering the AirPods 4 because it’s newer and somehow cheaper but I’m not sure since I’m more used to the older model. What should I do?

Pro2s are better in every way but some people don’t like the silicone tips or it doesn’t fit in their ears so they choose 4s

I got the 4s with ANC vs the Pro 2s because of the silicone tips. I couldn’t last 2 hours with those tips, but with the 4s, I could comfortably wear them the whole time I’m at work, and I go to the gym, they won’t fall out. ANC and sound quality is better on the Pro, but the fit of the 4s is perfect for me.

Hey everyone, I’m still using my AirPods 2 and a pair of Bose QC35s for travel and noise cancelling. I’m really used to the fit of the AirPods 2, so I’m leaning towards the AirPods 4.
That said, I’m wondering if it’s still worth paying extra for the AirPods Pro 2 or 3. Since I already have the QC35s for good ANC, I’m not sure I’d get much benefit from the Pros.
Anyone here upgraded from the 2s and can share their thoughts?

I have AirPods Pro 2, bought the pro 3 and returned them, I have also the AirPods 3 and AirPods 4 ANC so I’ll give you my opinion. I had the pro 2 and AirPods 3 for a while and frankly, AirPods 3 are trash so I kept using the pro 2 all the time. Then I bought the pro 3, worse comfort than pro 2, v-shaped sound that is far less neutral and enjoyable than pro 2 IMO so I returned them. Then, since I love the original AirPods comfort, I still decided to try out the 4 ANC despite the poor sound quality of the AirPods 3 and it was a revelation! The sound is really good, you actually have good bass now, not this metallic trash sound from AirPods 3. Basically it’s very similar to AirPods Pro 2 but not sealed so bass are less punchy, the sound dynamic is not as good and ANC suppress ambiant noise but not everything but given the form factor they are excellent. The 4 ANC are my goto now, its like 80/85% of the pro 2 sound quality which is excellent but in the best form factor for a daily usage, I can wear them all day long, it doesn’t hurt, I can’t even really feel them and just forget I wear them sometimes. Small bonus the battery life is good enough with around 5 hours and the case is very small and qi compatible so very good! So ultimately, If I had to pick one, it would be either AirPods 4 anc or pro 2 depending on how much you need to rely on ANC being strong. When I go to Paris for work, between the train and metro I definitely grab the pro 2 but for everyday use, go for a walk, work at home etc, I pick the 4 ANC.
