Bought an Apple Watch SE 3.5y ago (from Costco), it's been good but the battery is on it's last legs.
Look at Costco and I can get a Series 10 42mm for $389. "Your trade in could be up to $200"... I know that isn't mine, but try anyway, and even though my watch meets all of Apple's standards, they say "up to $5" trade in value.
I go over to Apple's web site and while the Series 10 42mm is $399, they offer me $55 trade in.
I'm surprised that Costco even says "yeah we'll take it" at that point, it seems insulting. Had they told me it isn't worth anything I would understand, but offering me "up to $5" just seems strange.

Just go through Apple. The pain in the ass of working through Phobio or otherwise isn’t worth $20 if you’re wanting to do a trade in.

Costco offers a trade in powered by Phobio . Looks like it can take up to 20 days and you have to send in the item and wait for either a digital or physical Shop Card. You could then use that shop card to buy the new watch if you want. I imagine it’s not as seamless as Apple’s, but I haven’t used either.
